I am going on a ski trip in January in Colorado. What is the best place to go to. I heard Winter Park and I heard Breckenridge. Also, I have never snow skied before. What is funnier and/or easier, ski or snowboard. And can you snowboard and ski on every mountain? Or is there designated slopes for each. PLEASE HELP

@bk11121988 .. wp and do this chair... the high lonesome.. gets you to the top and it is super easy terrain all the way down, ski first.. boarding for the trees and powder later...

@bk11121988 I guess you have already gone on your ski trip, but I ski and I find it takes a lot of off season working out to stay in shape for it, riding might not. From what I've heard there are trade offs for skiing or riding. Riders get to put their boot strap on and off at every lift, but they also get snowballs. Skiers have to defend themselves from their rider friend's snow balls with their poles, but we don't have to do the hop on flat slopes. :D

@1sean1sean Yep, good idea. I have a setup like that now with a much smaller camera. Didn't consider that option back then, even with a smallish MiniDV recorder... I did fashion a poll mount for the MiniDV cam that worked pretty well, though.

@jghop no offense but your wifes skiing isnt good enough yet to take on the bowls where theres bumps crud powder and every other changing condition you could think of, i know i sound like a jackass but ive seen inexperienced people get in alot of trouble on terrain they shouldnt have been on, ive also heard stories from my parents who both worked at breck in late 70's early 80's, my mom found a dead body against a tree, just so you get where im coming from, wifes first time? she did good

@phil656565 I appreciate your perspective, and I won't shrug it off... It was our first time out west (after skiing for years in the east coast crud), but we stuck to the blues and greens because we're pretty realistic about our skill level. She actually didn't venture into the bowl, and I only did, for that matter, for a look. I was proud of her, and she held up well the entire week.

@jghop yea thats cool man, out east is way diffrent, glad you made it out west and have a concept of what you can and cant do, yea from your perspective you looked pretty solid, glad she kept up all week too, always great to share the joy of skiing with someone else. I see way too many beginners from the midwest that get hammered then go bombin runs and tumblin down the hill so it scares me to see people who arent the best goin where they shouldnt be, have a great injury free season

@MrMoBidnizz You'll love it. Never have to go down to the base if you don't want. If you like bumps and trees it's the best in the country. There's great glades or if you're a double black kinda guy theres always vasquez cirque.

you should try the black diamonds! I can't wait till I'm going to go on my trip, which is in December. I'm going with my closest friend, we both ski. We are accually going to Copper Mountain, and then Keyston Mountain. Have you heard of them?

i went to winter park just in january this year.... what ski runs did you all go on in your vidio???

We spent a lot of time on EdelWeiss, Columbine, Roundhouse and Corona Way on the Mary Jane mountain. That was probably our favorite area, and much of what you see in the first half of the video. In the second half, you'll see Cranmer, Jaberwocky, White Rabbit, Allan Phipps and Turnpike. Those were good trails, too!! Ok, so any trail with snow on it is better than an average day at work, right?
