No matter how it's played, it's beautiful. I've heard many interpretations of this piece, and they all take my breath away. Yo Yo Ma's is slower, and more subtle. Maisky's is more crisp and concise. I love them both, but I prefer Maisky's.
And probably the only time Misha will appear with Roger Moore aka Bond; James Bond! Beautiful interpretation! (Although Pablo Casals' was quite phenomenal too)
*totally blown away by the cello and piano playing* w-wow....just...wow *mouth open in surprise* the way this man plays the cello....it's absolutely amazing! And the quiet and melodic piano accompaning it just adds to the beauty of this man's talent -
I hope to be getting a cello this christmas to learn. haha I also self teach myself the piano too it's great fun and I get a kick out of it =) lolzz *shuts up coz I know I've gone on for too long*
This is the most beautiful and peaceful performance of 'The Swan' that I've ever heard... I can listen to it over and over again without getting tired...
It looks like Roger Moore. Is it really him?

Je pense que chaque note est assez importante pour qu'il y en ait qui soient plus accentuées que d'autres. Ça rend pas super bien.

So much better than Julian Lloyd Webber, the posh boy

someone gave you a minus point. But you are too right! Don't like Julian Lloyd Webber. Which is maybe my cello teacher's influence to be honest ha.

When I think of Le Cygne, the only person I see performing this piece is Mischa Maisky. Thank you so much for posting this clip.
