  • Rats arse you deparados, you propose an unknowable transcendent reality, then speculate on aspects of its unknowable character. And you wonder why some people don't buy it. KMA.

  • actually. religion was probably the first step to logical thought for mankind. an explanation for what was happening around him. so really without there being religion first there would not have been these series of events that caused mankind as a collective to think logicaly and find reasons for why things happened. And the fact that a lot of scientific discoveries came from people with religious views. One sided athiesm strikes again. agh! both sides are so robotic 10100. 2? ERRor 404.

  • Now that was awe inspiring. 10/10

  • i am agnostic, but i say it is laughable to compare man's puny knowledge and achievements against the marvel of even the smallest bacterium, much less that of a single human being. even if we could have on hand all of the component molecules, we could never assemble an organism from them, much less bring it to life. the brightest scientists are the most aware of man's limitations.

and for all our supposed power, it would only take a large asteroid to wipe our species out of existence.

  • @ellwyn You don't watch the news do you? We HAVE created life....self replicating single celled organisms. I do agree with you on the fragility of our planet, and the wonder of life itself. However I can't agree with some of your argument: Compared to where we were technologically as a species just over a 100 years ago, I find it hard not to be impressed at our accomplishments.

  • Nice video. Religion is a disease. Let's be done with all that nonsense already.

  • You do realize the human brain is more complex than anything that humans have created? Just making sure you understand that.

  • And YOU realize it is humans using those ever-so-complex brains that have reasoned out that life evolved?

  • Science is not discreditign evolution. The only serious discussion hapening that deals with evolution are talks about how evolution actually occured. All teh big basic facts have been hammered out they're just working on teh details now.

  • ah the brainwashing continues..Lies and refuted evidence is not facts..and bologna is the new steak!..When will it end..I can't wait for God to rain down fire on this piece!!!!

  • lol you are DUMB

  • Hi, I study evolution. I'd love to hear about these new studies. Despite spending most of my days immersed in the scientific literature, I seem to have missed these earth shaking new developments. How embarassing!

Could you please respond with a citation, I'm really interested!

  • "Look up what China's archeologists have been digging up, basically what they are digging up now disproves Darwin's "tree" of life."

    Sources?

  • Let me also explain this, we evolved over how many year, now lets look at the creation of the microchip and the rapid doubling of capacity it has done in it's short lifespan. This is occurring so rapidly that what used to take up an entire room so long ago, is less powerful than an mini calculator.

  • no they dont..or that God actually get's the credit for what we create...a single cell out does anything man has done combined!!!!

  • And so are other animal brains.... your point?

  • I love it! Great video. But it does say" Over the last 1000 years, religion has brought us nothing"...

I think it has brought plenty: war, separatism, fundamentalism, murder, justification for slavery, burning women, sexually abused boys, entitlement, apathy due to perceived salvation, arrogance and darkness where there should be light.

By the way, I am not an atheist. I love God, but hate how men/clery have declared self-important rules and stories as truth to maintain their power.

  • lol and your music taste is pathetic!

  • lol ... did scientists have an idea of creating a "thing" like DNA for transferring information before DNA was discovered right in their own bodies? a ridiculous video. How many times did the probe to Mars got destroyed? How many times did a space shuttle get blasted killing everyone in it? humans who are full of mistakes.

  • sure it's not science's fault, it's mankind's fault; but with the help of science mankind is about to destroy the world

  • hmm... either we dont know or its one of the thousands of gods that people made up

    ------

hmmm...science has 1000s of theories..somehow it's able to decipher which ones are true and which are false. Religion also has many tests that can be used to see which one is true..one of them being science. Bible's health science is amazingly accurate..and millenia ahead of modern science theories. Makes people in my church live 10 years longer than other Americans according to National Geographic.

  • Actually atheists are just enjoying using God's creation. Man's achievements are still infinitely way behind God's simple single living cell, rocket ship is a simple thing - all you need to make one RS is money and excellent mathematics.

  • who created the people and gave them the brains to create these things?

  • hmm... either we dont know or its one of the thousands of gods that people made up

  • people never made up gods. people confused gods with their own desires ... disorder? ever heard of entropy? Since no process in universe is reversible and ideal(including humans' thinking), entropy of the universe increases. In the same way the disorder in the concept of monotheism increases since humans are not perfect. if Homo sapiens were perfect, they would have reached Mars when they first somehow "evolved" from chimps! Go Figure

  • You must be pretending to be educated. Of course man makes mistakes. That is why "SCIENTIFIC METHOD" was developed. That is the one thing that made all mans discoveries possible. You are a dumb fuck who thinks answers and discoveries appear like Muhammad having one of his epileptic attacks. That isn't how science works. Because men have flaws in their thinking a METHOD is used to eliminate wrong concepts and emotionally charged conclusions.

  • Mans biggest mistake was inventing poor quality gods. Now their ignorance is an embarrassment. There are some idiots like the Muslim Dr Naik and Christian Kent Hovind that think they can find links in their holy books to recent scientific discoveries. They only impress the uneducated as it always was with religion.

  • I am more educated than you probably ... or at least more educated then the so called "uneducated." I am in awe of the general scientific method presented in Quran. You worship science and as a result it is obvious that you let your old parents stay at old homes because well, they are of no use to you. Right according to the scientific principles and evolution. Get rid of what you want. You know that scientists can be stupid and you are one.

  • what you dont want*

  • The Quran does not present a scientific method. The Quran presents a cult from the bronze age that some are desperate to show as relevant today. Science is no more a religion than football. Do you feel ashamed or weak and you feel the need to call interests others have a religion? One can have spiritual qualities without being religious and sadly one can be religious without having spiritual qualities.

  • it means that mankind has no reason to brag about their "scientific knowledge" because the fact is that they are not perfect. Scientific method will eliminate the problems but more problems will emerge. So scientific method will never achieve utopia. The reality that scientific method is not an end in itself shows that there must be a God who created universe without mistake and that even scientific method is taking time and will forever take to discover the realities of creation.

  • Science isn't out to prove the existence of god or the non existence of god. Science is only determined to discover what is. No more, no less. God has never stopped people killing. Science will never stop people killing. Superstitions feeds fear and fear feeds power. Knowledge is the enemy of fear. Old books that advocate superstitions are no cause for peace. Humans themselves are the cause for peace or war.

  • Quran was never supposed to be a scientific book full of experimentations and observations. Probably the companions of Prophet pbuh never knew that Quran contains information that will coincide with the scientific progress of the 20th century. All it does is that it shows the absolute knowledge of its writer, God. What the heck is spiritual? Spirituality does not exist outside of religion and salvation is only by religion, not spirituality. New age spirituality is a joke lol

  • Existence of God is superstition? How can you be so arrogant when you can see thousands of proteins "dancing" in protoplasm and showing their worship of God ...

  • And ooh before you say that proteins "dance" due to vibrations and rotations and energetics, why was it decided that protons will carry positive charge and electrons will carry negative charge? Why not the other way around? Why are electrons both waves and particles? Why not just one? Many questions science can never answer so scientific method is limited.

  • Firstly:

Saying proteins are dancing and worshiping god is poetic but not fact. It is an entirely emotive statement. You believe what you do because you never doubted or questioned your own beliefs since childhood. Humans are complicated animals with large brains and weak bodies. Because of this our growing takes many years and we need protection from the world. In this time we are very open and are programmed to 'believe' everything we are told.

  • Secondly:

Our rational development is delayed as we gather enormous amounts of information and experience. If it were not so the human race would not survive. Religion takes full advantage of this weakness in our development and our children believe and maintain beliefs that would otherwise be rejected by an older more rational person. This is the way all religions grow and survive.

  • Great vid - in comparason, religion has achieved...the dark ages...war...hatred...bigotry...honour killings...forced child marriage...brainwashing...intolerance...tax evasion.

I'm sure there is some peace and harmony that faith has bought people, I don't doubt that.

But lets not forget the darker, larger side of cult.

  • I just discovered the Atheist Experience- a live call-in show in Austin Texas. There are some great videos from it on youtube.

You get a great sense of the inanity of some of these creationists/religious people.

  • One of the last things god did was create a flood that murdered almost all of creation because he was pissed off. How can you take superstitious crap seriously. There is no evidence for any god but the emotional demands of people who want a simple answers.

  • God murdered because He created in the first place. If someone steals your patent, how would you feel about it shithead? Ooh wait, I am being superstitious by calling you shit head because I have not seen shit in your head yet.

  • I was wondering why you were so disconnected from reality and aggressively religious then I realized you are a Muslim.

  • Awesome video.

  • Ha in their faces

  • That's proof of the universe, not God. What has God done since then? Nothing.

  • Arrogant claims on zero or terrible evidence.

God enjoying sitting back and watching children being eaten alive by deceases eh?

God just sits on his bum watching 3 billion years of savage brutal evolution. Nice God you got there buddy......inefficient, brutal and cruel.

I hope your God doesn't exist......what an evil bastard. Shame on you.

  • It is funny how you come from metaphysical claims to talking snakes.

  • 3 billion years of savage brutal evolution......think about it.

  • @cityUFOinvestigators where did god come from? theres you proof disproven.

  • i suppose a simple way to put it is like this. The video states "These are the achievements of Man" but according to religion, Man is an achievement of God. There for all that we achieve is what God intends us to. So they are his achievements, not ours, we're just the muscle putting it to effect.

  • so by that reasoning phantom, god is also the reason behind every genocide on earth, and things like 911. Sure there might have been hijackers crashing planes into buildings, but they were just doing gods will they were just the 'muscle putting it to effect.'

Same with the nazis who poured the cyclon into the gas chambers with the jews. the just doing gods will they were just the 'muscle putting it to effect.'

  • calm down thunderfoot, i'm an Atheist, i don't even believe in God. If God did exist then yes the hijackers crashing planes and the nazi's gassing Jew's would have been doing what God for unknown reasons wanted them to. We're not made in God's image, God was made in our image. That is why rape, murder and Genocide are almost seen as explainable in the bible, if there was a God i don't think he would want his own creations to destroy themselves, unless he was molested as a child.

  • I like this video, but unfortunately this argument is easy to beat by Religion. Now i am an Atheist, but the simple way to beat it is by saying that God gave us those ideas, and we used God's chemicals and materials to construct them, there for they are God's creations.

  • but wait, god and religion has tried to stop us from doing these things. why would god give us the ideas to later try and stop them? if this is how god works he must make mistakes.

  • I agree that if that is how God works then he makes mistake, to put it short God has fucked up repeatedly if he exists, certainly not a perfect God. However i don't remember Religion ever telling us to never travel into space. In Medicine especially Religion has tried to take control, no doubt about it, but the argument displayed by this video is easy to beat no matter whether religion has said it should or shouldn't be done.

  • but wait, religion tried to suppress the ideas that the earth is round, they tried to suppress the mathematical knowledge and scientific discoveries that led to space travel, at one point gun powder was considered a satanic weapon. almost every modern invention today was directly or indirectly hampered by religion.

  • but see the original problem is still there, Religion might have told us not to do any of this, they might have said gun powder was a satanic weapon and tried to make us believe the world is flat (until it was proven otherwise) but the original issue is that even if they told us not too, all of these Scientific accomplishments can still be referred to as accomplishments of God. Religion always has an answer to Sciences answers. e.g Physics = Intelligent Falling, Evolution = Intelligent Design.

  • ChristianChastain .......You prefer god to all of humanity.

    Let me rephrase that

You prefer something you've never heard, seen or touched.....to all of humanity.

    you are brainwashed.

  • Man can decipher the genome and marvel at the cells splitting, which man did nothing to create! Ha! Is man taking credit for sequencing the genome?! All man is doing is observing it! We dont even fully understand it! God laughs at your puny "achievements" and at your trying to take credit for HIS deeds. Oooooh, so we can send rocket to EXPLORE (not even create or build) planets and moons. We are EXPLORING God's creation.

  • Hey, maybe you should get off the computer that MAN created if God is so great. If you hate technology and progress so much maybe you should stop benefiting from it.

  • I find it laughable that this video shows many pictures of the universe and the galaxy, then zooms in to find earth, and then a city, and then people. How can that not give you a sense of you own insignificance? Did Mankind create the moons he is landing on? Or the universe? Can we explain how it got there? Create a moon, then talk to me about how great man is. Man is PUNY, and his achievements are PUNY.

  • awesome...fuck creationists.

  • Amazing video. Five stars.

  • said evidence would be interesting, and i'd respect christianity more for it. those emperors? couldnt tell ya.

  • Have you ever heard of Tacitus or Pliny the Younger? They mention Christians being persecuted and none of the first and second century historians give any reason to believe that those Christians believed in anything other than a real person.

  • erm, well if "god" in the clip is understood as "religions" there is substance to the video, but otherwise it comes off like its suggesting that learning to merely manipulate the forces of the universe is a greater acheivement than actually creating them, which seems retarded to me. but aside from that, props to the vid's maker.

  • Excellent collection of man's achievements.

    Excellent choice of musical accompaniment.

  • Well done. :D

  • Death to the Authority!! We must establish the Republic of heaven here on Earth!!

  • What's God done since then?

  • prove it. oh wait, there isnt a way to prove god besides the collection of stories that we know as the bible, which was compiled 200 years after jesus died. there is no way to prove or disprove what doesnt exist. what if i told you there was an invisible pink unicorn in the room? you cant prove or disprove that, BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THERES A UNICORN IN THE ROOM!

  • ... died awful deaths...

    Sorry, typo.

  • i've heard of the eyewitnesses and their unrepentant deaths but not the evidence of their existence and unrepentant deaths. if anyone gots data on this my mailbox awaits.

we don't know if aristotle was real or a hoax. if he was, his story is prolly fucked up.

  • So if you just saw evidence that the apostles really lived and died like it is said, you'd believe?

How about the emperors of the Roman Empire, were they real?

  • None of the written sources from that time ever mentions a guy who could walk on water, could heal people, was crucified and resurected.

There is no proof of Jesus ever existing.

  • You shouldn't say that eyewitnesses are unreliable sources of information just because they believe what they claim to have seen. If everyone thought that way, that would be the end of any semblance of order and justice in society. Just because a book is thousands of years old doesn't mean that it's full of lies.

  • No one writes about eyewitnesses to such events either. So I say again; there's no proof of Jesus ever existing.

The Bible is of course not a trustworthy source.

No one claims that Aristotle could walk on water.

  • The eyewitnesses write about the eyewitnesses in the Bible. How do the facts that all of the eyewitnesses of Christ's ressurection believed in Him and that several of them wrote books of the Bible and were persecuted to death hurt Christianity? Of course they did. What is lacking in the historical account is any early criticism of the eyewitnesses' existance or reliability. Nobody even considered the idea that Jesus wasn't real until around the ninteenth century.

  • To say that there's no evidence for a historical Jesus is to blind yourself to the evidence that does exist.

  • Can you understand that the bible is not a trustworthy source in this matter? It becomes a circular argument when you try to prove jesus existence with the bible.

    You need external sources.

The other sources from that time did NOT write about a guy who could walk on water (which would be a spectacular event).

  • Then I suppose we shouldn't use eyewitness accounts in our courts today either because that would be circular reasoning. I mean, people were there, they saw what they saw, and the fact that they believe that they saw what they say they saw means that we shouldn't listen to them because they are biased toward one interpretation of what they saw.

  • I mean, come on! Everyone who sees a murder happen says that the guy they saw killing someone is a murderer in the same way that everybody who says that they saw Jesus raised from the dead says that He's God! So, obviously they're biased, right?

  • Think about it! Other than the eyewitness accounts, Christianity has a pretty poor case for the existance of Jesus. I mean, they don't even have a grave with a body in it for Jesus! All the other religions have a grave with a body in it for their founders. Why do Christians believe in Someone who they don't even have proof existed unless they believe the people who say they saw Him?

  • That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life-- the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us-- that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you..."

    (1 John 1:1-3)

The guy who wrote that was obviously biased!

  • Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.

    (Luke 1:1-4)

  • It'd be silly to believe Luke, too. I mean, really! He got his information from eyewitnesses and as I've already stated, eyewitnesses can't be trusted.

  • And, yes, I am being sarcstic. If that offends you, then, that's too bad.

  • there you go again, wrapping up an argument with a quote from the Bible. You should know by now that that is bad rhetoric.

  • Psalm 14:1

    Romans 1:21-23

Theirs hearts have been darkened. Let God deal with them. God bless.

  • and if there not be a god, well, nobody can say anything...because they're DEAD.

  • hahahahahahahaha....yep!

  • That is a faulty analogy.

A better one: In court we do not trust what the accused say (christianity&bible), we demand technical proof or trustworthy eyewitness accounts.

The rest of your comments are just more of the same. This answer applies to all of them.

  • The Bible and Christianity aren't people. They are evidence. The Bible is the eyewitness account and Christianity is the product of the work of it's founders (Jesus and the Apostles). You don't put evidence on trial. You put people on trial. If you don't believe the evidence or the eyewitnesses, that's your choice; no one is forcing you to believe; but don't say that there isn't evidence.

  • Also, you do cross examine the eyewitnesses and the accused to find reasons to believe or disbelieve their testimony. If you throw out the Bible and Christianity as evidence, you are throwing out the witnesses; and good luck getting Jesus to make an appearance in your trial. He already did that once, and next time He comes He's not going to be doing the whole "meek and mild" thing; let me assure you of that!

  • I'll await his coming with snacks and beverages ready.

  • Get this for, the final time. The Bible is not admissible as evidence!

You are trying to prove something with something that you have written yourself.

This is what you do: "Ytrewq is the true and only god, and only those who believe in him can feel his power."

Why? Because I make the claim that Ytrewq IS the true god, and I base it on the holy text above.

Do you see how silly your arguments are? That has just as much credibility as the bible.

  • Are you saying that I wrote the Bible?

  • it doesn't matter if Jesus existed or not. The fact of the matter is it is ridiculous to believe that he actually did come back to life or turn water into wine or walk on water or any of the other bs miracles he performed.

  • You are right. It is rediculous to think that a mere man could do those things. It's not so far out, though, to think that an Almighty God could do those things.

  • i knew some nut would respond like that. good thing you don't have to give any evidence, huh?

  • "No one writes about eyewitnesses to such events either." - Scurck

Josephus mentions a guy who he says was stoned to death named "James the brother of Jesus." That has traditionally been considered James the brother of Jesus who wrote a book of the Bible and was apparently stoned for saying that Jesus was God. Stoning, interestingly enough, is the traditional Jewish punishment for such crimes as blasphemy. Let me ask you, how many grown adults you know who believe that their brother is God?

  • The Old Testament contains at least 334 prophecies of Jesus, all dated at least 400 years before He was born. There are also 27 1st century historical documents that claim that Jesus fulfilled all of these prophecies. There are also the secular writings of Pilate's letters, Josephus, Pliny the Younger, Tacitus, Lucian of Samosta, Seutonious, Tertullian, Thallus, Bar Serapian, Phlegon, the Jewish Talmuds, etc.

  • All of these accounts were written before Constantine in the fourth century. And Jesus was witnessed by 500 following His resurrection. It makes sense that the Jews would have tried to remove the name of Jesus from all of their literature at that time, since they did not believe He was Messiah. And it makes since that Muslims attack Christianity by saying Jesus was just a prophet. But His name lives on...

  • name one that isn't vague

  • Daniel's prophecy of the weeks (Daniel 9:24-26) is pretty explicit. (Keep in mind when you read it that the weeks are weeks of years; in other words, each "week" is seven years.)

  • yeah, that's REAL explicit, minus the part where 7 days equals 2555 days. ass.

  • hahahahahahaahahahah

  • and keep in mind that the R is backwards and you have to convert H into ng, and that a mile is actually a building, and that wheat is really about missles, and that left is right and dog is cat.

  • Eh, your mom is descended from a monkey.

What, I'm not allowed to say that?

  • How would a person know if God was not behind it?

And don't you think there is a lot of stupid design?

Actually don't bother answering, it will just be more BS.

  • I *really* like the theme of this. I'd like to see more atheist videos with this same theme.

    Subscribed :D

  • Er, owell, I subed to the other guy too, haha.

  • Loved it!

  • Great job! Keap it up !

    Death to Religion!

  • Once again, dude - top video.

  • ...we are a dead 'species' - I think you meant

    Well put and concise video:)

  • 5* faved and subbed, what more can I say?

  • No! :D not my video pls sub to the author :D

    Check description box.

  • I know, I subbed to him a while back, I'm happy to see Atheists helping each other out.

  • Creationists created God!

  • nice job. i sincerely hope that you make a few religious retards think about it....

  • This phenomenon of having a memory for the race, of having an accumulated knowledge passable from one generation to another, was new in the world--but it had a disease in it: it was possible to pass on ideas which were not profitable for the race. The race has ideas, but they are not necessarily profitable.

    ...

Then a way of avoiding the disease was discovered.

    - R Feynman "What is Science"

  • THANK-YOU! THANK-YOU! THANK-YOU! For this awesome video, it was brilliantly done!

"The message IS crytal clear," and you would have to have a major mental disconect, to not be able to do the simple math on this video presentation.

  • bravo!

  • Amazing video.

  • bravo , but the believers of myths and preachers of ignorance , still will not listen :-(

  • I know its a crazy thought but we need to meet an intelligent extraterrestrial life form that has a written history longer then 6000 years. This way we can just throw out all religious doctrine in considering they(religion) claim that that will never happen.

  • Even if aliens came and landed on our planet with tangible proof of the age of the universe, fundamentalists would still have their fingers in their ears, their eyes clamped shut and they'd be hollering "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"......

  • fair enough if anything they would start an interstellar war we would get owned in like 20 min then people can claim the rapture happened just not the way they saw it happening.

  • Naturally!

  • excellent video

  • Nice :) Though I would argue that religion has not brought us nothing as stated in the video. The inquisitions, burning heretics, stultifying science and freedom, enabling tyrants, war, exclusion, organized pederasty, human sacrifice and a holy writ for chauvinism. I'm sure the sheep will say that was man not religion.

  • Fantastic video!!

  • really great, i favourited it.

  • I like.

  • good.

  • Nice work Jedi! I love it!

  • It is nice work, but it's not my work

Check out the description box :)

  • interesting

  • I'm impressed with your vid--its a great ride, and so far, an impressive ride for mankind.

  • Really excellent!

  • I love it!

Enjoy the rest of his videos :)

  • Wow! Excellent vid!

But, you know all the sheeple will just say all of these things are because of god.

    (how lame)

Thanx for the post- I'll go check out the link! :)

  • LOL everything is because of god :D

    ... except diseases, that's our fault :D

  • Of course! LOL!
