there is a lot of difference f/cars leave on delay boxes aka computer ! those c/jets are leaving on driver reaction and the drivers shift gears in the c/jets . the 71 comet I had a delay box & a pro tree , I did foot brake race it as it was a tagged & insured street car , ran mid 10`s in 1/4 , all motor ; no turbo , super , no bottle ! i sold & wish had not ! i have tow car 80 crown vic & it runs 15.0 , 1/4 with a non h/o 5.0 ; headers , intake , 600 holley , , 3.55 gear .

Dude: It's a totally different animal. With the f/cs you don't have to shift, the clutch applies on it's own, and the car's reaction time is enormously quicker with an f/c.

Driving a nitro-burning funny car is more about hanging on for dear-life, trying to keep the bucking bronco straight and driving to NOT over-do it. Driving the slower, heavier and less powerful 500cj is about trying to whip that thing in shape.

So, my guess is that a funny car driver has to get used to it all over again.

you're an idiot. You know how different it is driving an 8000hp 4-5second nitro car vs a low 10second car....and btw the mph was under 130....to push that car into 9s or 10 flats isnt going to be easy

Actually, pushing a 10:80 American car into the 9's is ridiculously easy, which Mustangs have been proving for years. Chevy and Mopar, too. I drive a bus, a Mazdaspeed3 and a 51 Ford pickup with a 351. They're all different to drive. Takes almost 3 minutes to master the subtleties. Do you think Force drives the Funny to town for a pizza?
