  • Litlle more bassy than should, but Great playing MY FRIEND!BRAVO!!!

  • great job man.jamerson was such a innovator.

  • !!! JAMES JAMERSON TRUE LEGEND !!

  • this is a crazy bassline and brilliant at the same time!

  • helluva ear dude, do u score music for marching bands if not u need to enter those waters you could clean up because more and more high schools are looking for arrangements true to the original score of the songs they play and not watered down versions even college's

  • well played sir. you're right it is a great line, how does a man come up with music like that, what a legend.

  • personally I prefer the bassline to Ain't no mountain high enough.

  • Great song, great version!! Now I am studying this song, it seems to be easy but removing his time jeje. Very good work.

  • Hey, great job! Just a quick question - I also use a P and the PJB Bass Buddy, what are your settings on it for this kind of tone? It seems to have flat EQ, compressor off, but active setting on? Am I getting this right?

  • Cheers. That's right - I have an EMG-P active pickup on this bass.

  • Alright thanks for answering, EMG active pickup I wouldnt have guessed, do you have a preamp in there as well?

  • Man, that was hot...

  • Pretty damn good ! Excelent !

I watched other videos and became your fan. Nice playing and perfect tone for this kind of songs.

    Keep on going !

  • Awsome playing man. Love the Bass sound ,sounds just like Jamerson`s bass.

  • Great job--and nice bass, too. It's good to see that I'm not the only guy who digs the p-bass.

    Are those flatwound strings?

  • awesome awesome! gave me goosebump. i featured your vids on my humble bass multiply account, i hope it's ok... i gave proper credits and a link back to your channel so they could check out the rest of your awesome videos. :)

  • nice work man! You probably have it but get the Standing in the Shadows book/cd and listen to Pino Palladino play this tune. ...he really nails it.

  • You must be a Funk Nephew! Way to rock on this (2nd fave Igor line) and Gladys's Grapevine (1st fave)!!!

  • hot dayumn

  • Well, I was gonna try this one but I'd rather keep listening to yours.

Great as always! (I hope they get rid of that stupid compression)

  • James would be proud! It's always a pleasure to hear your vids. a 5/5 for sure :)

  • So what makes this your favorite jamerson bassline?

  • It's difficult to explain - there are hundreds of other I like - this one just has a bit of everything that's great about Jamerson, plus a superb Motown arrangement, production, and Stevie of course....he's a God to me.

  • this and "signed sealed delivered" ... don't make me pick between them. maybe stevie brought out the best in him?

  • i think i'm onto something ... just listened to you play "uptight" and now i have to add it to my 'don't make me choose' list. my theory, until proven wrong, is that something about stevie -- himself or his songs -- raised the bar for jamerson, his own bar, already sky-high bar.

  • Man, great job! You are a better man than me for playing this memorized! You nailed almost every note exact to the music! It appears as though your videos have the same annoying noise gate that mine have. I think youtube thinks they are helping the situation, where, in fact, they are messing it up more!

  • Cheers - I hope YT convert it back to the original uncompressed track eventually...

  • wow, sounds awesome!

  • Classic!

  • great stuff keep post more

  • Great stuff man. Dead on!

  • Cheers!
