I used to feel pitiful to those who have spent their lives without having enjoyrd Bach, Mozart and etdc... though not now. I am still grateful to my eldest brother who had given me the opportunity of enjoying the claasical music . That's why both of my sons are graduates from the Juilliard School and the younger one used to be the youngest life-long cello member of the Philadephia Orchestar for 7 years.
your story is impressive. I guess you are happy now that you were forced to listen to this music. I was lucky, too to find my way to it in my childhood. I think I would otherwise not have the same approach to it.
Maybe I would like the melodies but I don't think I could really generate an adequate understanding.
this example of Szeryngs recordings is so wonderfully played I am so grateful that it was recorded and that I am able to enjoy and appreciate it as much as I do!
