I love Darwin and its weather, wet or dry the weather is fantastic. Unfortunately I live 3000km south, and the weather here sucks.

Yep, with about the same amount of lightning that Florida gets, it's a good idea to stay under shelter even in the small storms.. I seen countless storms here shoot out "Positive Cloud to Ground" lightning over 30km+ into clear sunny skies!

Standing on top of the East Point Observation tower during a storm was probably the stupidist thing I've done during one of these storms
Come to Cairns it's pretty much the same thing on some days...goes longer though here...thanks
Rather sit at Rapid Creek and watch the water rise
