@LoneMonk1 I doubt it since today we don't really laugh at the science of 5k years ago, geometric concepts of the egyptians are still valid, so are the observations of the apperent star movements. in the future what we know today would be considered way too basic, and some of it wrong, but we are correct to the degree our technology allows us to be, and that knowledge is what will help us develop our understanding to one day surpass it.

Try YOUNG'S LITERAL TRANSLATION...In the beginning of God's preparing the heavens and the earth the earth hath existed waste and void...Notice that the creation of the "heaven and earth" happen "in the beginning" BEFORE the six days. Everyone just reads through that like it's not there.

It's o.k. to believe in dessert scribles and pagan interpretations of them, if that is what makes you happy. As I do understand it, some people are not worthy enough to live life without religion. It is a usefull tool to bind those that would be completely immoral otherwise and forsake the Truth either way. Psychology is a prime example of this, trying to exclude the humanistic school as it uses a lot of philosophy, which is an art and not a science. When art becomes explained, it remains art and is often philosophy. When science explains something, it is a science... like psychology. Science cannot explain art and vice versa.

Thanks but the point was both science and art are on equal terms. You cannot compare them on which is "more valid" as they use different scales of measurement that cannot be compared. It's like trying to measure sound and volume or light and cheesecake... Even if you some how break down a comparative scale for which has more evidence, it would be very far from the original point of both topics. It's only when you try interpreting religion as a science do the validity of religion problems occur.

My Psychology class doesn't exclude the humanistic approach, there is just not much to say about it since its not very credible. and art is constantly explained in my psychology class. how perception works, how human understanding works, how stimuli/reations do their job.
@LuminousTruth It's not very creditable in the eyes of science. Psychology was recently (around a year or so) deemed only to be taught as a science. Psychotherapists (or many of them) objected to this as it would exclude a lot of the Huamistic's schools work - or in the very least, see them as not worth much. Psychology has now become about compiling everything into actions, reactions and variables. You will find in the field that much of today's psychology isn't used by psychotherapists.

@LoneMonk1 I doubt it since today we don't really laugh at the science of 5k years ago, geometric concepts of the egyptians are still valid, so are the observations of the apperent star movements. in the future what we know today would be considered way too basic, and some of it wrong, but we are correct to the degree our technology allows us to be, and that knowledge is what will help us develop our understanding to one day surpass it.

Try YOUNG'S LITERAL TRANSLATION...In the beginning of God's preparing the heavens and the earth the earth hath existed waste and void...Notice that the creation of the "heaven and earth" happen "in the beginning" BEFORE the six days. The main point of Genesis is that God created existence, and that God works for a living and takes time to rest and we should also. Spiritual lessons not science. To critique the Bible as not being science is really a red herring, of course it's not. However, the point of my post was that the "heavens and earth" already existed before the six days per the text. And "Let there be light," is day one plants day three.

@coolvideo28 Hey most people don't know evolution is a lie as lots of people believed in evolution even before Darwin they thought evolution was selfevident and didn't need a book to explain it. People have mentioned evolution before Darwin just didn't go indpth about it as Darwin did. You look at ants, bees, hornets, yellowjackets(shaped like hornets and colored and striped like bees), crickets, grass hoppers, etc & logically ask how can they not be related?

Why do you ask "who" created matter & energy?
Why would it have to be "who" rather than "what"?
Note also that matter & energy are two sides of the same coin. Matter is energy in a different form.
So the question really is where did the energy come from.
Science knows that in the quatum level particles appear aparently from nothing all the time everywhere in the space between atoms and in the vacuum of space.
These particles are very short lived but they are there.

Yes it is true, our universe is only compose of one thing in two forms. The energy, and matter (which if you multiply with the square of the speed of light will become energy).

@TheEinstienian We believe that our planet is so special because until this moment we haven't discovered other living planet/s our there. Maybe 3 billions years ago, "Martians" feels the same way as we do today...feeling like a special creation... until their time had passed. What do you think?
But I agree with you, we and our planet is so special. Its equilibrium of nature and its balance of life as well as its diversity make it special and perfect.

not a scientist, but would have to say that art is made of material which is formed into shape and distinct patterns and colors which stimulate the human mind through visual perception causing stimulation and reaction... anything i left out?

@LuminousTruth Naw, it can't. In fact, Science often rejects the work of Art. Psychology is a prime example of this, trying to exclude the humanistic school as it uses a lot of philosophy, which is an art and not a science. When art becomes explained, it remains art and is often philosophy. When science explains something, it is a science... like psychology. Science cannot explain art and vice versa.

@Drowzor Very nice way of explaining human psychology. It's good because you laid it out in lamen terms how religion has no basis other than a passing whim. Like a painting or a ballet...that's all it is...entertainment. I've always had this hunch that religion is something inevitable to those with excessive boredom. Since to myself, I've never met one person that wasn't hypocritical in their religious beliefs. I wonder what the world would be like without forgiveness substituting punishment?

Thanks but the point was both science and art are on equal terms. You cannot compare them on which is "more valid" as they use different scales of measurement that cannot be compared. It's like trying to measure sound and volume or light and cheesecake... Even if you some how break down a comparative scale for which has more evidence, it would be very far from the original point of both topics. It's only when you try interpreting religion as a science do the validity of religion problems occur.

@magicyte Oh I'm not blind to the flaws and lies surrounding religion. It would be foolish not to acknowledge people do use religion for control but we should remember that it isn't religion doing that, it's people using religion for that :)

My Psychology class doesn't exclude the humanistic approach, there is just not much to say about it since its not very credible. and art is constantly explained in my psychology class. how perception works, how human understanding works, how stimuli/reations do their job.

@LuminousTruth It's not very creditable in the eyes of science. Psychology was recently (around a year or so) deemed only to be taught as a science. Psychotherapists (or many of them) objected to this as it would exclude a lot of the Huamistic's schools work - or in the very least, see them as not worth much. Psychology has now become about compiling everything into actions, reactions and variables. You will find in the field that much of today's psychology isn't used by psychotherapists.
