  • I haven't heard Watch Ye Therefore since my great-grandmother 's homegoing celebration. Once that song was sung the Spirit of the Lord enveloped the church, Never in my memory do I remember a homegoing where the Spirit was as high as that day. I thank God for his presence! Thank you for this posting apostolicreturns

  • I haven't heard watch ye therefore in so long....does anyone know if Elder Carlton Burrel of Niles, MI, Elder George Dewberry of Benton Harbor, MI or Elder Bosie Bowman of Benton Harbor was any of those Elders there. Also was Bishop Hermann there?

  • you must be from benton harbor to?

  • Yes I am are you?

  • I just discovered your message! I do know that Bishop Harry Herman and his wife were there. I spoke to them immediately prior to the procession to the cemetery. It was a bright spot in the day because I was 51-years-old at the time and hadn't seen either one of them since I was a teenage member of Christ Temple-Indianapolis back in the 1960's. God bless them!

  • Bishop Horace Smith--the next leader (current leader now) of PAW 1:28

  • OMG! I enjoyed watching great leaders from PAW, COGIC and other Bible believing churches sending this honorable Shepherd home in Holy Ghost (joy of the Lord) style. Saints and friends, this is but a glimpse of what HEAVEN will be like. Praise God. Hallelujah!!

  • Thanks for posting this. Bishop Ellis was an "old school" apostolic pioneer. Do you have any video of the eulogy or the final viewing at the end of the service? If so, can you please post.

  • WOW, now that's what I call a victory service!!!

  • nOW DIS IS HOW YOU SEND A SAINT HOME

  • That's Bishop D. Rayford Bell at 1:03. He is the pastor of Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church in Chicago, IL in the PCAF

  • watch ye therefore ye know not the day

when the Lord shall call your shall away

if you labor striving for the right

you shall wear a golden crown

    oh i, i shall wear a crown

o when when the trumpet sounds

if i labor striving for the right

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I am pastoring now but I was in the choir then at this service. March 19 and this day Mon March 25, 1996 was one of the hardest days I ever had experience besides my grandmother passing this past February I have not grieved so painly. Bishop (DOC) you are missed badly. What a man what visionary. What a leader. ONE LORD ONE FAITH ONE BAPTISM!

  • wow!!

  • Detroit misses the Bishop!!!

  • Oh my Lord, that is one incredible video.

  • WOW!

  • my goodness! they hit all the good ole timer songs

  • I still don't understand how they had this service at Greater Grace. I know they had to turn people away.

  • I was there and they didn't turn anybody away because the people stood in front of the doors in packs and would not leave because of the great love he had for people, they were in the temple and all over the grounds. It was awesome seeing people standing outside in the cold weather just because they wanted to be there. As Spencer Said "they Could have had it at COBO Hall but he didn't Build COBO Hall." I personally, know that he believed that people should have homegoings where they served.

  • Ok, I agree that it should be where someone served but sadly sometimes that facility may not accomodate the crowd.

  • Um, is that Bishop Horace Smith at 1:26???

  • You Got It, that's him.

  • @apostolicreturns I just discovered a lot of the videos of our late Apostolic Fathers in the Gospel. God bless everyone who is remembering all the late Bishops. Everywhere I'm blessed to serve someone has to stop me and talk about Bishop David Ellis. It's a blessing to know he's yet remembered. In fact many people ask me to sing "Joy Bells" wherever I'm serving. I always tell maybe imitated but never duplicated.

  • When did Spencer speak?

  • Spencer spoke during the family tributes
