He`s right !!!! When you cut the ends of the coil off, We call them tube sheets , Then the copper is now considered clean & the scrap yard will pay you more , If you don`t cut the tube sheet ends off the coil , Then its considered dirty copper , They don`t pay much for dirty copper , They also don`t pay much for a complete unit , Untill its torn down & sorted out , Like what he is doing.
If you are stealing these from someones home you might end up on the wrong side of a gun. Its legal to defend your property in my state. Nobody will ever miss you.
THE EASIEST WAY TO MAKE MONEY USING THE INTERNET 6dollarminisite.ws. Buy this website for $6 and sell it over and over again. I have tried everything, this is the only website that has ever made me any real money, and all money goes to your paypal.
@DEERSLAYER216 Good question. I have a Yellow Jacket recovery unit that I picked up a while back that I've never used. It was a really good buy at a local flea market. About 25% of the price that I saw other used units being bid on, on ebay, so I snagged it. He may have used a recovery unit and just didn't show it? He may have just said drain it and then assumed that people would search for that part elsewhere if they needed to know how? I don't know? Good question, though.
I allways sale the compressor seperately and strip the copper from the aluminum !!!Question I know the compressor is just a motor sealed in oil so to speak..But is it worth opening for the copper I mean sounds like a job to open it???
@arkansastrash320 not hard work if you have a sawsall or a plasma cutter. yes it's worth the extram money especially if you have 20-30 or more units every ounce counts.
@circusboy90210 if you can find a buyer who wishes to hand over the cash. i know the scrap yard always has plenty of money so until i find something better i'll keep scraping

most probable a working unit like that is worth way more working than it is in scrap.

@circusboy90210 selling a used ac unit like that is tough because the buyer has to pay for the instalation

@piglett2195 in the long run if they run you are probably better off selling them as working units.
