  • I've heard that Eddie Hazel sometimes cried when he played this song....

  • @ionut5000 Yep. George Clinton told Eddie to "play as if your mother just died"

  • i think my brain melted

  • @jzm That the maggots u feel...

  • GOD?

  • 2 people accidentally pressed "dislike"...

  • Funked up! And I want some more real funkin soon....

  • hazel is the one with the glove?

  • @gjosed no the one with the glove is Hampton

  • HO. LY. SHI. IT!

  • i think my face just melted

  • FUNK YEAH EDDIE

  • For this one moment in 1971, Eddie Hazel was the greatest guitarist to walk the face of the earth.

  • Fantastic ty

  • michale hampton is playing like he killed eddie hazel's mama

  • amazing , nuff said.

  • This shit makes me wanna float on clouds and fucking eat rainbows all day

  • One of the BEST FUNK-ROCK groups of all times.

  • could not agree more, the most overlooked influential band of all time imo, no offense to the ramones !

  • MISSISSIPPI DELTA BLUES!!!!!

  • Hendrix is unmatcheable! But you can't deny Ed Hazel's place in Rock fame for the sheer artistry and note choices he in this track, jammed out in one take in 1971! Playing with and intensity and pure metal soul that Hendrix simply doesn't display. Hendrix was the best guitar player, singer, songwriter and frontman and his live performances are unbeatable! but for this one track...Hazel tops him on this one! Hazel's other songs kick ass but never reachs these heights again. R.I.P Eddie Hazel

  • hey davio1986 jimi is not my favourite guitarist and songwriter but i dont have nothing against if he is yours... but statement that he is the best singer is funny.

he had unbelievable talent as musician but being a singer wasnt his good side.

  • Funkalicious!

Eddie shreds this one. A defining moment in rock guitar.

Go maggot brain, go maggot brain!

  • Man, Eddie just DESTROYED this track and not even with what appear a lick of effort. I would have loved to have been around to see the Earth Tour.

  • the only blacks in rock n roll dominate it

  • 5,000 VIEWS?!?!? Where the FUNK is everybody???

  • wha wha whaaaaaa!!!

  • fun(k) is dead unfortunately :(

  • FUNK is not dead. it's just lying beneath the scene...where people have to search for it, which is unfortunate

  • 5:50 duel solo. insane...

  • such an under-appreciated band

  • Hendrix spirit is still alive through Eddie Hazel and Michael Hampton in this concert.

  • fucking sick nasty !

  • so fucking intense. i love it!

  • the dopest part is that Eddie seems oblivious to the smoke around him and the hundreds of people in front of him. He was just up there twerkin. RIP to one of the greatest

  • this shit is fire ~!

  • Jimi's better!

    No

    Eddie's better!

Fuck the arguments people can't we just agree that they are a coupe of the most talented, soulful and heartfelt players that ever graced our planet!!!!!!!!!!!

    ....No

alright then get back to your string of YouTube arguments

  • fuch the lot of u cunt faced bastards hendrix rules fucking rimjaurs

  • tops any hendrix easily

  • Don't be silly.

I love Eddie but 'tops Hendrix easily'?

Not even in the same league.

  • dude just learn to accept the fact that hendrix was amazing, but dude, to untrained ears people believe like almost anyone can play better.

it just is a matter of taste, but i do have to say, hazel is one of the best there ever was.

why do the good ones always have to be dead?

  • Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Hendrix, but this IS some beautiful improv.

  • easy there sea biscuit....

  • not to be disrespectful or bring any kind of negativity into this, but how can hendrix be considered overrated when most of these great guitarist wouldnt be around if it wasnt for hendrix

  • well i can agree with that but i just think every great guitarist deserves there due and eddie hazel clearly didnt get his....hendrix got his but i think they all should be all up there like mount rushmore george washington got it going but others caried and capitalized on the original idea therefore deserving credit.........

  • Great response bro! i like the way you think:)

  • thanks that is just the way i see things!

  • Well Hendrix wouldn't have been the same if it weren't for tons of other musicians before him... All music is influenced by other music. Now Im not discounting that Hendrix is one of the most influential musicians in the world of guitar, but I feel when examining a guitarists merit, you should focus on the guitarist, not who they influenced. I dont think Hendrix is overrated but I think there are a TON of people who say hes the best who dont even listen to him or realize why he was so great.

  • oh you're rite. i know everyone is influenced by someone. and believe me i listen to him enough and many other guitarist to know a lil somethin bout how great he was, eddie hazel, stevie ray vaughn, eric clapton, michael hampton, santana, etc... list goes on and on...

  • you can see me playing a lil guitar if u type in "organizedblues" in the search... you'll see my influences in my playing. actually it'll be pretty obvious lol

  • Hendrix is unmatcheable

  • so good you could imagine Jimi playin this, sure as hell cant say that about alot of guitarists. RIP EDDIE

  • haha jethro tull maybe

  • now this is REAL psychedelic music..

  • The psychness of this performance is hot -- does anyone know who's playing flute here?

  • Maceo Parker.

  • Eddie's a good guitarist! He gives birth to a number of feelings just like Dave Gilmour of the Floyd. I like his playing.
