Back in my day, we used to make tea. You would put the tea leaves in the hot water and it would flavor the water, and you would have tea. LOL Gilbert Gottfried's old Groucho is so funny.
This is a piece of history... for geeks like us. Groucho is always, always great. And this daytime show was the first most of America had ever heard of Cavett. ABC had him, and wasn't sure what to do with him. I believe he was moved to some sort of prime time slot for a while (As I write this Leno is about to do the same thing, in reverse), and then they put him on late night as the only genuine alternative Johnny Carson was ever up against.
Thank you for this clip of Groucho! Is there any possibility of you posting the entire Groucho interview with Dick Cavett from which this clip was taken? I would love to see it. Thanks again!

I think this is the show Groucho was referring to when he said he saw one of his earlier Cavett appearances and noted he had a horrible toupee

After 1969, Groucho retorted back to wearing billed caps from then on because he was already bald at this point in his career.

I love Groucho but that has to be the worst wig I ever saw him wear.

Cavett is a God. None better.

Groucho's comments in a later Cavett show appearance about dirty jokes make this one even funnier.
