  • groucho looked cool in tat hair style:D

  • I would have never guessed this was Groucho Marx - I would love to have met him...why couldn't the Marx brothers have lived forever?!?!

  • look at that toupee

  • What's on his head - a dead squirrel??

  • That is a horrible toupee that Groucho is wearing. Great, great comedian though....

  • Eeeeew, fake hair??

  • Wow! Gilbert's impression is dead-on! <3

  • I think this is the show Groucho was referring to when he said he saw one of his earlier Cavett appearances and noted he had a horrible toupee

  • Back in my day...

  • Back in my day, we used to sleep. We would sleep, and when we we were no longer tired, we would wake up.

  • hahaha dead on. It sounds like a western!

  • Back in my day, we used to make tea. You would put the tea leaves in the hot water and it would flavor the water, and you would have tea. LOL Gilbert Gottfried's old Groucho is so funny.

  • In my day ....................

  • I thought it was a Western.

  • This reminds me of a western

  • Ha! I looked this up because of Gilbert, too.

  • @steelymax Same here, are these the bland or boring conversations he's referring to?

  • Lame.

  • groucho.... that wig aint fooling no one... he was almost bald in the seriph pilot with chico and harpo....loved the clip though.. what a champion

  • Fooled me.....

    LOL.

  • he stopped wearing the rug..and wore the beret after that.....groucho was such a champion...no on is better then that fella

  • After 1969, Groucho retorted back to wearing billed caps from then on because he was already bald at this point in his career.

  • I love Groucho but that has to be the worst wig I ever saw him wear.

  • This is a piece of history... for geeks like us. Groucho is always, always great. And this daytime show was the first most of America had ever heard of Cavett. ABC had him, and wasn't sure what to do with him. I believe he was moved to some sort of prime time slot for a while (As I write this Leno is about to do the same thing, in reverse), and then they put him on late night as the only genuine alternative Johnny Carson was ever up against.

  • I always think of Neil from Freaks and Geeks whenever I see Groucho.

  • Cavett is a God. None better.

  • Groucho's comments in a later Cavett show appearance about dirty jokes make this one even funnier.

  • His accent is boss.

  • This was just great to see...thanks so much.

  • Thanks for this video. Great seeing Groucho.

  • That looks like the set from "The Tonight Show." Did Cavett ever sub for Carson?

  • this is from dicks daytime show.

  • Thank you for this clip of Groucho! Is there any possibility of you posting the entire Groucho interview with Dick Cavett from which this clip was taken? I would love to see it. Thanks again!

  • all of the clips are from a 1991 hbo special on groucho. this is all i have.
