you have to find out as much as you can, and through a headset when someone is screaming --you cannot understand them it makes it worse, he did his job trying to get her calm to relay information so he could send help, also playback 911 is filtered toget background noise out, so how clearly you hear the video is NOT the same as what your hearing time of call, because the dispatcher also has to monitor and respond to officer traffic as well, and getting CAD started, locating on a map. Very smart 10 year old. And the dispatcher did a good job trying to find out what was going on. He had to be firm to get her to focus and speak clearly. And she did a great job! The police got there pretty fast too..so obviously the dispatcher did his job well. The fact that they found the little boy 12 hours later is good news as well. All in all, everyone did what they were supposed to.

This dispatcher has a very serious mental problem.Even after he gets his answers he asks them over and over again. How he landed this job is a total mystery to me. The man is is obviously more than a few fries short of a happy meal. Why would any police department put a mean spirited person in charge of taking 911 calls in the first place? Often every second counts in these situations, especially in child abduction cases. He should have received one of those infamous police beatings for this.

There is a call taker and then there is a dispatcher. When the call taker puts the info into the computer, it is sent to the computers of the dispatcher, who then sends help. We are required to stay on the line and get as much info as we can. But help is sent immediately

Very smart 10 year old. And the dispatcher did a good job trying to find out what was going on. He had to be firm to get her to focus and speak clearly. And she did a great job! The police got there pretty fast too..so obviously the dispatcher did his job well. The fact that they found the little boy 12 hours later is good news as well. All in all, everyone did what they were supposed to.

This dispatcher has a very serious mental problem.Even after he gets his answers he asks them over and over again. How he landed this job is a total mystery to me. The man is is obviously more than a few fries short of a happy meal. Why would any police department put a mean spirited person in charge of taking 911 calls in the first place? Often every second counts in these situations, especially in child abduction cases. He should have received one of those infamous police beatings for this.
