I have traveled out of the country quite a bit,and the US has a larger middle/upper class than most countries. We do have many who are struggling, though. We also have many who live outside of their means.
I would rather see our government encourage people to volunteer and give to charities vs. taking money for taxes(beyond funds for roads,military,etc)and spending it on a lot of red tape & some good causes.
