@tutut37 I totally agree with you, but I am sorry to tell everyone. They were going to make a movie, but because of Twilight and Harry Poter becoming movies, they canceled the movies for trilogy. I was really looking foward to it, but for now we have to hope a new director comes along and does the movie. Plus Twiight books are ending in 2011. Which means a better chance that the trilogy will come out!!

i honestly cannot understand what people see in this book. It's almost as badly written as twilight. There is no characterization,no plot, the villain is called Circe (wow how creative?). It;s as if the author just decided to mash up girls in the medieval age with magic and try to make a book out of it. It's an outrage to fantasy

I strongly disagree. First off, the books are nothing like Twilight in the writing style or the plot, which IS very complex. And these books don't take place in the medieval age, but the Victorian age. There are other types of fantasy stories than just stereotypical Lord of the Rings type books.

Besides, Gem describes herself once as not particularly pretty, but not plain either. She's kind of in between. I, personally, picture Gem with a bit of a pixie-like face and big eyes.
