  • (continued) I didn't have anything personal against this band but Phoenix had a bad reputation for being rough on opening acts back in the late Seventies.I think that if they had just played it straight and let their music do the talking they would have been fine but the drummer's antics seemed to get the natives restless that night.

  • Wow,Screams.I saw 'em in Phoenix on this very same tour opening for VH.They seemed to be ok at first but during the between songs banter the drummer started doing some weird stuff like waving a couple of semaphore flags around and walking around like a robot. The singer then tossed out their record to the crowd as a giveaway but somebody tossed it right back at him. They were then booed off the stage with a lot of junk being thrown at them.

  • Orange amps and cabs for the Bass Rig. Johnny played thru a Ampeg/ Marshall amp combination and ampeg 4x12 cabs. Steve's tone was all technique and Gibson.

  • I'm so much in awe watching these vids. Just amazing performers, musicians, all of them. Steve Jones is actually my dad, and I've met Brad a few times, he plays with the Romantics on tour now. I met John once last summer, too. Great guys.

  • great, gteat stuff. takes me back. lots of similarities between this and cheap tricks first album. love the bass sound. anybody know what bass amp is being used?

  • @timeinyourshoes Given the year and sound, I would guess either Ampeg SVT or Acoustic

  • This is a terrific band that was done it by things beyond their control. I've been listening to the LP and wishing there were a second offering.

  • A wonderful Group I met in Carbondale Il-still frnz with Brad-a great guy and drummer!

  • Lived down the road from the band SCREAMS . Brad got me started playing drums and help me learn cool beats and listen to new groups like Cheap Trick.. He was a great inspiration and influenced me to make music a career . Thanks to all you guys in Screams. This band use be to called Star!!!

  • The Screams - what a great band - Any chance you have "Imagine Me" too?

  • Thanx sooo much for posting this! I saw them on this tour with V.H. and always loved the album but could never find any info on them, so again...Thank You!

  • Wow- great stuff. I wore the grooves off this record back in the day. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank You! To whoever posted this. Saw them open for Cheap Trick in '78, and later opening for Head East in '79. This video was such a great reminder of their powerful stage show. That's Brad (Steakley) Elvis on drums and John Siegle from the Insiders on lead guitar. I remember the quote with their picture in the back of Creem magazine, "Pop the cork!"
