Yeah, and I suppose John Cale and Jeff Buckley butchered Hallelujah...oh, and that hack Dylan too...I read that Leonard loved this version, but what does he know?
briljant song, also take a look of the rock version of this song from rickyenslingertje of famous blue raincoat 2009. brand new,i think this guys did a great job!!
that's hilarious that your comment was on top when i clicked this, that particular line tickling around my head was the reason i searched the song; that line ALWAYS makes me lose it a little, so honest in it's acceptance of the pain for one's own failure...

i was standing right by the girl who was singing. after the song was over the guy in front of me turned around and in a very flamboyant manner said, "Honey. You're no Tori. How about you just watch like the rest of us. OK?" It was awesome. I told him thank you. and she didn't say a thing for the rest of the show. Somewhere out there is a gay guy who i need to buy a drink for cause he saved my experience for me in Charlotte.
agreed about singing....although, I really feel that no one should be singing along. People at the show are paying to hear Tori Amos, not random fans singing near you.
OMG everyone but Tori SHUT THE FUCK UP! I was at this show! Thank GOD everyone around me knew Tori was who we came to hear!

Ergh. I hate people who sing at Tori concerts. Seriously. Go home and play Singstar. A Tori concert is not the time or the place.

She sings the song well but I like the original better because of the sincerity of Cohen's voice.

people should not sing along during a tori- concert. If I were there she could have totally spoiled it for me :(

Tori singing "thanks for the trouble you took from her eyes/I thought it was there for good so I never tried" breaks my heart.

I went for the experience, so I'm okay with whatever moves you as long as no one's overpowering what I came to be a part of. :)
