  • when i finished this game, i just can't get over when the whole team broke apart to settle in their own eras. that feeling of discovering a great bond of the past, present and future generations. it is remarkably touching and somewhat enlightening too. :)

  • ;_;

  • "Crono and his buddies"

Frequent phrases like this show a lot about the game. People who criticize the lack of "character development" in CT kinda miss the big picture. Not all characters need a convoluted arc to have depth, or warrant our sympathy. We saw these characters interact frequently in the game, even during the battles. By the end , we knew the worlds they came from, what they dreamt of, and how they felt about each other. A character that is hard to forget, is always the best kind!

  • @FellaDudeMan So well said!

  • Through time and space, Crono and his buddys remain ever vigilant destined to repeat themselfs over and over in awesome epicness, and save the world from utter doom.....Or you know...maybe past Chronos a pot head and doesn't feel like going in after Marle...in which case some other random hero would venture forth...and meet Frog...but he wouldn't be a Frog...he'd be a Puma...0_0

  • I so want a music box that plays this

  • 3 people don't have good friends.

  • you know you have good friends when they risk their life to resurrect you.

  • @Starfighter15

so i'd say i have no friend, only family

  • it make me sad when i listen this each time i hear it, I think to a girlfriend than i would like to get :(

  • This is the perfect music to put a little baby to sleep peacefully.

  • This is how pathetic I am right now: Eating chocolate pudding while I cry like a lil baby listening to this. :'D

  • The last part of this is stunning and means a lot to me

  • @Voliko1 Ditto.

  • @Voliko1 The same goes for me Voliko......

  • @Voliko1 From 1:35 on is just indescribable. It means a great deal to me also.

  • lucca and robo made me cry the most:(

  • this song will be here for me when im down i listen to it and when im sad but i really love this theme its calm sad makes me cry i love thank you chrono trigger <3

  • this is the saddest theme ever

  • <3

  • this tune > awesome

  • huhuhu

  • this can make a great bed time story song

  • Love these! Thanks for posting

  • i cried

  • =] If there were to be a music box that plays this music piece... ^-^

  • This song always makes me cry...thinking about all the friends that you made in your quest to save the universe, and in the end, you all have to return to your own era... After all the times you spent together, traveled, and had life-changing moments with...leaving it all behind...

God this makes me cry so much...sometimes making me feel what I describe...I just feel so sad when I talk about the Nostalgic past of my life...that sometimes it connects with my subconscious.

    This game is the best

  • I love, love, love,love this music *w*

  • 0:50

It hit that moment right as Ayla left and the 600AD King started talking about her.

    1:36

And I hit that right as Lucca was crying in front of Robo.

  • @songoku350 Yeah songoku, I can say the same! And this game did draw some tears from me as well!

  • There are few things in life quite like having a good friend. A person that would cross time and space to help you, a person for whom you would do the same. A person that has laughed with you, cried with you, bled with you, and never once regretted any of it. "Love is blind, friendship closes its eyes." Heres To Good Friends.

  • Chrono Trigger marked the end of such a beloved era----the era of Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy VI, and Illusion of Gaia. It was the era of worlds that drew you in, stirred your heart at its very core, and touched your soul in a way that changed the person you are for the better, forever. It is impossible to properly

encapsulate what all of us here felt during that era, but all of us here know what it meant to us----what it still means to us.

  • @LockePhilote Wow, what a wonderful comment, reading this as I'm listening to this tune... it moved me, it really did.

  • @RoughHnds thank you :#)

  • @LockePhilote heh....its sometimes sad, us humans can show and sometimes do just that......but its so hard to find friends like that.and ive always been a person who would be that kind of friend....yet i dont have any.........

  • @LockePhilote That is so good, I now have a Word file solely for that little paragraph. Thank you. :)

  • Amazing....what more than that needs to be said ? Well How about: Chrono trigger is THE BEST game of ALL TIME. No game even comes close to the story the characters and their development the items the quests the endings the options of gameplay, the creativity, not to mention all those ballin' ass triple tech attacks :) Im gona go play CT Now :)

  • I want a music box with this music playing every time I open it!!!!!

  • That's genius dude... let's make that happen, I want one too!

  • Best ending ever in a game, period. Sad that kids these days grow up with Master chief and other shit games with no soul. Damn I love this game...but this isn't the best song...the one after this on is, hehe.

  • It's like a book full of memories you can never let go of; and every time you read it, the only thing it does is dig into your heart more and more. Until you realize there was no greater time than that which with you've once lived.

Only dreaming of being able to travel back then, when everything was so easy-going and happy.

Knowing you'll never be able to travel back to that beloved moment in your life.

  • I'll openly admit getting a little choked up when this one started. Only time that happend during a goddam video game, I have to admit that too.

  • damm that happened to me when i finished the game and her this,i was like:OH GODDAM!! this song is so bittersweet.

  • this song gets me everytime

Some songs not as much, but this one is almost impossible because everytime i hear it,it affects me.

  • That's no fair man... I thought I was a bigger man than that... yet I did shed a tear hearing this....

  • we all do shed at least a tear... at least i have

  • this song could get any passionate chrono fan feeling like they are about to shed a tear. I love this game.

  • Same here...I had this custom made into a music box for my daughter.

  • awwhhhh thats the sweeetest thing ever

  • actually i find ff7 characters to be rather bland, cept maybe cid.

i liked squall and zell as characters,.

    FF9 had good characters.

    Why no mention of ff6?

Hmm old games also have great characters.

  • Hell yeah, those characters were awesome, CT and FF3/6 were the best.

  • DAMM LOL

You caught me off guard and hearing this bittersweet tune at this moment has made me sad.

  • Crono Marle Lucca Frog Robo Ayla Magus are nakamas 4ever

  • I totally agree...

You just get so much closer to characters in games than you do in movies, because you play AS them, you relate to them...

Its hard to describe. But you know what I mean, right? As a Chrono Trigger player? ; )

  • FOR REAL! ME TOO!

I felt as I was with them right there...on the adventure with them. And how you can relate your friends with each character in the game.

  • Of all the games that exists today, Chrono Trigger is still one of the best!

  • Chrono Trigger isn't just the last great 16 bit RPG but the last great 16 bit game and emotionally it still hits me not just because of the great story and incredible characters but it hits me as the end of the most wonderful period in video game history. The 8 bit and 16 bit era from 85-95. This game is the tribute to that era and the gamers of it. The cast of CT is the greatest ever assembled in a video game. I never cry in movies etc. but im not afraid to say CT made me shed a few at the end

  • I agree. There will never be another game like Chrono Trigger. Chrono Cross was a poor sequel.

  • The music for Cross still rocked though! If they kept the cast down to six and cut out all the extra characters and focused on more character development, the game would've rocked. The basic story was pretty good :D

  • Comment removed

  • who thumbs downed me? I was referring to chrono cross. Storyline wise, and Chrono timeline wise it fails in comparion, but indeed i believe it it's a good rpg. It just doesn't live up to the high expectations after Chrono Trigger IMO.

  • I agree, I never have cried in a game until I played Chrono Trigger... I am welling up in tears as I listen to this song, the beauty of it is phenomonal and I almost do not want to listen to this song but I cannot stop it. Such beauty is rarely experienced today.

  • I was agreeing with Heroyesterday BTW

  • when i first heard this bittersweet song i was overcome with sadness because it had that feeling that everything ended all well and all is good and everybody is happy but its the end,and i am sorry but now its time to close up.

  • @songoku350

    Damm!! well said

Another great addition to the series was illusion of gaia and ff6 and lufia.

Man those games will go down in with me as the most memorable, especially illusion of gaia.

  • @songoku350 I agree with you fully. I was born in 1991 so I was too young to rememebr the 16-bit era, but looking back now as a dedicated gamer I too think that the decade between 1985-1995 was the best for gaming. Games today rely too much on the cosmetic aspects, like graphics. Back in the mid-late 80's and early-mid 90's games had soul. Until games regain that soul (if they ever do) I'll never regard any modern game to be a true masterpiece. I'm honoured to have played Chrono Trigger.

  • @widdowson91

Hmmm... I have to agree with you. I was born in 1991, too, but I liked the 16-bit generation greatly. I have played Chrono Trigger, and I love it. If you ask for more modern games, try Wii and NDS ones (not all, but a number of). These two systems are trying greatly to erase the tendence of cosmetic aspects. And... Chrono Trigger was released on NDS! I wish I had one! About today masterpieces, try Super Mario Galaxy 2, it's innovative.

  • @magnusLordN Yeah I got Super Mario Galaxy 2 at release. Three days later I got all 242 Power Stars. I was obsessed with it. It has been, for me, the best game this ganeration.

  • @widdowson91

    I agree with you.♥

  • @songoku350 Today we have games filled with blood, swearing and such things.

It's like the Mad Max era of games.

But when it comes down to it, nothing beats a game that makes you so happy/sad that you starts to cry.

  • @ecchibanzaii Indeed, nothing beats a game like that! What a shame it is that I have not come across a game since CT that had the same powerful emotional effect!

  • @zenjiros One of those that are in the hall of tears(fame) is MGS3.

If you have a PS2 or PS3 you must try it out. but best if you followed the story from young age just so that you let the plot grow in on you.

  • @ecchibanzaii I played through Metal Gear 1 on the NES in 1988, MGS1 during Christmas of 1998, MGS2 during Christmas of 2001, and later MGS3 and MGS4 in 2004 and 2008. MGS1 and MGS4 were the only ones that got to me emotionally, with MGS1 being the greatest of all of them by far in my opinion.

  • The best thing is that this music can stir up powerful emotions without the listener even having had to play the game.

Having beat Chrono Trigger myself, this brings back a lot of memories....

    ;'D Thanks.

  • When this song started playing while all the other characters that I had travelled with, fought with, and gotten close to, were saying their final goodbyes to each other.... wow. This song made that scene so emotional. It literally would not hae been half as powerful without this music, it's just a sad "goodbye" theme.

  • 0:50 and onwards sounds like Lufia or something

  • My first ending was the crashed Epoch version of Beyond Time.

  • I'm really impressed how Yasunori Mitsuda's music are always able to stir emotions about.. Impressive piece.

  • O.O Yasunori Mitsuda!!!! Yeah!!!!

One of my very very favourite song from games

I will never forget this melody

Soon....a version in electric guitar of this song in my videos :O

    listen it please

    Saludos!

  • That music and "THE END" makes me fuckin sad... i wanna more Chrono Trigger !!!!

  • I get chills at 0:49. Wonderful feelings

  • This one is the best of the best of the best ending themes in all games ever...

Special thanks to uploader and offcourse Nobuo and Yasunori ( I don't know who made this song )

  • What on earth? This song made me chew on my Wallet!

  • The part at 1:36 always makes me feel all choked up. ;_;

  • I love Japanese people becase the things they make, actually make me feel kind of nostalgic....

  • all of the song this song is soooooooo good.

  • Is this what you hear when Magus dies at the end of What the Prophet Seeks or is it just the regular song. Get that ending and listen to the song after Magus dies.

  • Well, I'm not sure about Magus' ending of the Prophet Seeks, but I clearly remember this from the second best ending, in which Crono isn't revived, and you crashed with Epoch. In that ending, Marle flies to the Death Peak with the help of some balloons and then she looks at Crono's shadow in the moon and then runs towards it.

  • Perfect.....perferct.............such a great music *crying*

  • I was looking for this, thank you!

  • Like with so many others, this tune makes me think of all the wonderful friends I have, and all friends whom I am yet to make. Funny how friendship means more to you as you grow older...

  • 0:56 to 1:04

That tune is like in every Chrono Trigger song lol :P I love it

  • Most excellent!

  • my favourite song

  • I love Japanese people becase the things they make, actually make me feel kind of nostalgic....

  • this song is awesome. thanks for posting it up

  • the difference starts at about 46 seconds into it

  • this song and Far off Promise chrono trigger is very very similar

  • this is the song at the very end of the game after all the credits are over

  • this music reminds me of the good times i had with friends

  • beautiful..

reminds me of someone looking into a photo and reminiscing about the good times..

  • Or meeting your childhood friend being apart for so long time..

  • @StrungOutFlip me too

  • oh i´ve been looking for this!!! finally i found it! I love thiisss!

  • actually, I think this plays way before that, around when |Marle reveals that she is princess Nadia. just without that last part.

  • And if i remember right, this plays in that end of time when you´re talking to Marle and taking her to your party, if i remember right xDxD I´m not sure

  • yea, you're right in fact, everyone's theme plays when you talk to them at the end of time, so it's kind of like a mini-sound test.

  • poor marle?why?

  • Poor Marle..

  • poor marle?why?

  • I think they were talking about the first time you hear that lullaby, it's when Crono goes to rescue her in the beginning and Marle is talking to Crono. Then she disappears because something happened to her ancestor Queen Leene and Crono has to find the queen before she is killed.

  • Great!
