i know this was just for fun, but the choreography actually wasnt that bad; if you wanted to, you could put out a quality film. just polish the choreography, work on your sound mixing a little bit, and either cut the acting or give it some serious work

It was just a few friends goofing around which turned into a real project (on the VFX side, NOT on the filming/acting side). Yes, OBVIOUSLY it's corny and cheap looking, but we weren't trying to make it convincingly real...you can't critique something on a completely incorrect basis...

Watch Lucas-produced battles. 2, sword styles & lightsaber styles = totally different. 3, hilts = limitless variation. Everything from a Standard Single Blade, Double-Bladed, & Curved Hilts to crazier variations like the WarDragon Rider's Saber, or Lightwhip. Besides, "looks real" doesn't really apply to a fictional weapon...

with this combat being only improv, it's exceptional, really. and great job with the rotoscoping. I'm in the process of getting my lightsaber movie out there for a festival soon

You can cut through cortosis with a lightsabre, you just need to reactivate the blade after every few centimetres.

A) read the description, this was made with a 20 year old camera, which was long before digital image stabilization was ever introduced as a feature, and B) we're filming it out on a hillside with no form of stabilization other than holding it in our hands. Let's see you try to do better with the same circumstances, I can guarantee you can't.
The dueling was awesome, the force effects were pretty cool, but it was put together in such a bad way and filmed with such a bad camera it spoiled the potential of this film.
Get a better camera (more frames per second) and then redo the blade effects but take more time on it.

this was good, but i think the talking was needless, and it is always better to find a reason for ending up at a location other than simply running to it
however, i did like how he picked up his opponents lightsaber after defeating him, too often do people seem to forget that it is a very powerful tool, not to mention, what do you do if it turns out you were unsuccessful in killing your enemy? turn your back and he's like, oh yeah actually im not dead....but you are!
oh well, i enjoyed this one, there are some errors of sorts, but it is definitely better than "battle of the invincibles" or whatever it was called. perhaps one day i will be in a lightsaber duel on youtube, and people will be able to critique me... oh dare to dream

sorry guys nice try but no go the ony good thing about this video is, is that it should have been shorter if your going to do something like this invest in the time and work that go into making a good lightsaber battle Ryan and Dorkman are good examples they work hard at what they do and it shows

no. those are over rated. ryan vs dorkman boring as hell and all they were doing was trying to show off how "awesome" excessive effects and it honestly is only "so good" because at the time it came out, no fanfilm had used that many effects. i dont like where films use the same sound effects for every comatant, but i hate when they change the effects every time they turn on or off their lightsaber! but i like rvd2 and rvb.

A) read the description, this was made with a 20 year old camera, which was long before digital image stabilization was ever introduced as a feature, and B) we're filming it out on a hillside with no form of stabilization other than holding it in our hands. Let's see you try to do better with the same circumstances, I can guarantee you can't.

The dueling was awesome, the force effects were pretty cool, but it was put together in such a bad way and filmed with such a bad camera it spoiled the potential of this film.
Get a better camera (more frames per second) and then redo the blade effects but take more time on it.

this was good, but i think the talking was needless, and it is always better to find a reason for ending up at a location other than simply running to it
however, i did like how he picked up his opponents lightsaber after defeating him, too often do people seem to forget that it is a very powerful tool, not to mention, what do you do if it turns out you were unsuccessful in killing your enemy? turn your back and he's like, oh yeah actually im not dead....but you are!
