Was that Aeroflot? I have some interesting memories from the old Tupolev 134s on their domestic flights... I'm sure it was duck-tape which I spotted on the wing when when I looked out the window!
OK, I should have called it duct-tape, but where I come from there exists a particular brand of it called Duck Tape. They quite possibly use ducks in the manufacturing process.
Sure, there's Duck tape, which is a kind of duct-tape and I reckon they named it in order to induce puns. A little like when they named the province of India called the punjab. On the one hand there were 5 rivers "Panch-ab" and on the other the population were just in the course of an inoculation programme to stop them from getting Sikh jokes.
@usenetposts it's named "duct tape" because it was developed to seal seams in sheet metal ductwork in HVAC systems. (In my former life I installed HVAC) Duck is a corruption. On another not, I am going to Moscow in October. I need a good reasonably priced hotel . Suggestions?
@usenetposts will not be working there. My Russian teacher has foisted me upon one of her female friends who still lives there. I will strictly be a tourist this time.
I noticed a very large spread on exchange rates here in the UK also. I think it is to be expected in times like now. Five percent swing on USD - PLN today!
I am glad to see the railway station! I found out where the bus leaves from but there were no signs. I ordered the taxi over the internet one month earlier for around EUR45!
Oh my, what a treat to have another series on Russia with the great professor Viktor Huliganov after following all your classes so far and really looking forward to your 103 courses. These videos are so amazing as they give a tourist's look at Moscow with the Huliganov touch. Keep it up.
Great accent! I went to Moscow some years back and stayed in the Cosmos Hotel. Tried to practice my terrible Russian but was too easily distracted by vodka and the gorgeous Russian women. Impossible to concentrate.
I am currently taking Russian at my university. I couldn't understand most of the words I saw, but I knew how to pronounce them. Also, I enjoyed looking at the architecture of the various buildings.
You should really try to find the time to view them and take notes while doing so. I watched them all and feel as though it greatly boosted my understanding of the workings of the verbs and the prepositions in Russian, with the added bonus of the songs and jokes at the end as icing on the cake.
You are fantastic my friend! You help me a lot to start learning and enjoying Russian kanguage. Thanks from my heart!

Familiar sight on the way into the city. The old anti-tank defences with the Ikea nearby.

Аптека! That's one of my vocab words for the current chapter I'm working on in my Russian class.

Great! Don't forget to follow the principles of the gold list system if you want to learn vocab effectively.

I have watched the first of your course videos. I need to remind myself to view the rest. I believe it's helpful to use multiple resources.
