I feel sorry for anyone who would pass out from a soft strike with just a pound or two of pressure.....I suppose it could happen, but it looked a bit hokey to me.
I too trained briefly with Oyata and also with an Oyata student back in the 80's and his techniques were quite effective, and did not look like this.
Guys this tech is useless, cannot be applied on a moving fighter,I never went ko when someone used it on me ....
@ShuriteKempo Wroooooong. As most of the old time oyata students know, the amount of force needed depends on the individual being hit and there isn't always a crack.
@fightingthebs Well I trained with Oyata in 81, how old time does one have to be. I went to his seminars all through the 80's into the early 90's, he knocks the hell out of you when it does this, at least he use to. I know a real strike from a staged one. Let Oyata smack you with this sometime, you will be a believer. I would guess these guys are not trained by Oyata people. Looks like Dillman students to me.
@ShuriteKempo again, showing your obvious lack of experience. each person has their own threshold of tolerance for the KO. Seminars huh.. well especially in the 90's where oyata stopped doing Ko's. And again.. I guess you don't know a real strick from a staged on. Quit wasting our time
@fightingthebs Who taught these guys? Not Oyata, who are they associated with?
Dillman, that is what it looks like to me. Any Oyata people care to comment, are these guys in Oyata's organization?
They are not trust me, :-) Check their web site you will see they are associated with George Dillman's group, which is just a bunch of silliness. Dream on pal.
@ShuriteKempo at this point with your comments shurite I can conclude that you have no idea of what you are talking about. If you haven't worked with Oyata (mostly Oyata's people since Oyata basically stopped knocking out people years ago) And you haven't come across people with a low tolerance to these kinds of knock outs then you are a fake, or a troll or both. Give it up, you are no longer worth anyone's time in here.
@fightingthebs Give what up? It's fake, I looked at their web page they are under Dillman's organization. That is all a bunch of fake kempo, silliness. Oyata did not train these guys so what does he have to do with it.
This stuff just gives kempo a bad name and I don't let it slide pal, just that simple. I have confronted people like this in person so it's not trolling. It's dangerous to pretend when you practice self protection and unethical. Just that simple.
@ShuriteKempo how does it feel with all that gel in your hair to help make it stand up so high and tall? It is more than obvious that you know not of what you speak, and with that.. there will be no more replies to your posts from me. You obviously have never worked on even these simple KO's .. and for the record.. yes I have worked out with Oyata.. Go back to sleep under the bridge Troll
@fightingthebs Gel in my hair? My hair is about 1/8 on an inch long, haha You are the one insulting people buddy not me. I just pointed out the obvious that it is a staged technique, anyone can see it. :-) And why practice on someone with a low tolerance? Do you think life will give you attackers who pass out when you blink at them. This and the no touch knock out stuff is silly.
I tend to agree with Drunken Horse , as a 27 year Veteran of Ryukyu Kempo/Ryute that Taika Oyata teaches ( and have been on the receiving end of technique). I would say that this is just a good bit of showmanship and thats all.
I will believe in that kind of technique when made upon myself or when explain by science...don't missinterpret me...I've said this before, and my teacher showed me and some worked, some do not. This things may be psichological, other staged, or real...
I'm sorry for the ignorance but what the hell did he just do to him? I suddenly have the want to learn ryukyu kempo. I was trying to decide between it and Aikido, I might have just made a decision.
He barely touched him, then he started to molest him on the ground!

I agree with the Oyata students. This technique makes a crack when you do it properly. Not done with enough force to work here, it is staged.
