This reminds me of one of Charlie's last appearances , when he was on stage for a made for TV production in the late 1980's A NIGHT OF 1,000 STARS . Cagney , Jimmy Stewart , John Wayne , Lucille Ball and so many others made cameo appearances , some for the last time . When Charlie came on stage , seated in an arm chair , the crowd in the hall stood and gave him the greatest Ovation I ever witnessed

Probably one of the finest pieces of music ever written, I know that the maestro (John Barry) did not compose this but his orchesration is absolutely brilliant. A most remarkable soundtrack, beautiful.

Ah, John Barry... I for one will miss his great craftsmanship. I'm filled with gladness and gratitude for the beautiful music he did leave us. it's a wondrous retake on Chaplin's original. It captures the haunting longing of a life spent pursuing and never reaching... How despairing. How harrowing.
