Music's hay day has long gone. It depresses me that my generation is lost in all the new "music" that is on the radio. After the 80's and early 90's, I say that lightly, music disappeared. I don't know what to call it anymore.
The more I listen to them, the more I realize that all good guys and all good music are gone.
I miss those years so much ! At least I'm happy I listened their music and I lived those times (60s,70s,80s). Now the youngs have five giant icons transformed in a poop: Bieber.
If you align everything to the football with his money transfers today, these four are Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and other European teams in their monetary ... and just four miles ... Blonde, keep looking for quality football .. . SUCCESS!
I was just wondering that I would love to hear a pitch version of my favourite Traveling Wilburys song 'Handle with Care' sounds like a good idea to me!
its great that these guys then not let there egos get in way of making great music unlike most super-groups p.s. R.I.P. Roy Orbison and George Harrison Haven is alot nicer with u guys there
@pedroqueiroz1000 Is that a question for this song or a comment about his monotone nasal rasp? Still love him, but he doen't sing. Or play harmonica (Thank god!)
it was really great that roy got back in the limelight in such nice showcase for his voice. and they all seem to be having fun. they were all neighbors in malibu. i was at a def leperd concert and joe elliot said most of them live in cali now, ditto tears for fears.
Tom Petty - (a major part of the project - like ALL THE OTHERS);) - IS COMMING TO dENMAEK - jUNE 2012 - In Horsens - where He will be giving a concert - at the old prison.
@whoandtheha - I like your point, - was also brought up by my brothers music, - which for me was - among others, - the rock n'Roll - exerience, - and much more - the Beatles.
@SuperHank73 I think George alone makes this -- and i keep thinking of how nice it would have been if John Lennon was around : matta fact - Not taking anything from the other artists--I think the Beatles would have made this a better master piece.
@CaveGuy2008 You do realize that Roy Orbison is pretty much the best singer in Rock and Roll history, correct?? I mean, that beatles are and will forever be legends and pioneers... but to say they would have made this a better masterpiece than Dylan, Petty, Orbison, Lynne and Harrison doesn't really stand up in an argument... You are taking 5 of the best songwriters in history... one of the BEST singers in history... Doesn't even make sense to debate anymore, just no man....
John Lennon was one of the best songwriters in history, and one of the best artists overall - but he probably would have overwritten this and made it too serious. This song is great because it's a bunch of (super talented) buddies just jammin and havin fun. John wouldn't haven't improved it, and neither would that other guy..what's his name...oh Paul (the most popular musician in history). And neither could hold a candle to Roy in the singing department (few can).
@kroft67 Ya John is a serious dude when it comes to Lyrics. Lol @ John overwritting this song. Paul could hold his own against any musician. It all boils down to "You're" opinion. Everyone has their own opinion. I dont really care about how great a singer is--I look for a singer who has knowledge and puts his heart into a song. This is a fun song....so simple and nice.
@chiron8839 Are you their "Manager" Who da fuck is you? What da hell you talking about? This song has a different meaning to everyone who listens to it--so shut the fuck up jack.
Simply beautiful. The only way to bring out the best in George Harrison was to surround him with fellow musicians who he really got along well with, and not expose him to the ugliness of the business that would make him want to quit and just stay home. Once you did that, got him out of that shell, he hit peaks that belong on that Mount Rushmore of greatest songs of all time. Few people have matched those peaks, no one has surpassed them. This is no Here Comes The Sun, but it's a classic.
People who have grown up with computers, probably take things like this for granted. If like me; you are old enough to have been pleased with a clockwork toy when you were a kid, you would understand where I'm coming from. I've got shellac; vinyl, tape, cd, and dvd, but nothing beats the pleasure of sound & video together. This is the best free entertainment in the world, what would we do without "YouTube" ?
What a shame Roy died shortly after this video was shot. To me Jeff Lynne is the only one that doesn't seem quite right for the band only in that it's hard to picture him doing this stuff after all the years with ELO making that kind of music.
@John32070 ELO wasn't really all that different: orchestrated rock. In one of his interviews B4 he died, John Lennon said if you wanted to hear the Beatles today, listen to ELO. Anyway, Jeff Lynne was producing records by all these guys but Dylan back then; like them, he just liked the music.
A group of people hastily wrote a song (inspired by a box) so good they had to for the finest supergroup ever and release 2 albums - this is my favourite story ever
@markweaver1994: Physically yes, everything else no. The crop of good musical artists seems to be getting smaller. Today's generation of tweens and teens don't know awesome music if their socks arent rocked.
@Yyyyzyyy You're mistaking him with Rob Schneider. People, to this day, think Rob was in TW, ha was mistaken for everyone except Petty. Petty's blond and Rob's not.
Sometimes you see a handfull of legends get together on a stage for a tribute or an encore at the end of a big show and together they all make a big noise, but these five or six all blend in to make a true classic sound, and memorable music!
I love this song. the sound of the guitars harmonizing with each other, all five guys singing. i just wish I was there to witness these singers/songwriters/musicians jamming away together while George and Roy were still alive

I will concede however that Petty's voice only really work for his songs and those are really tailor-made to suit it.
It makes me cry to watch and listen to this video. So many great, and I don't use that term lightly, singers from my teenage years have died at such young ages. Roy Orbison and George Harrison being two of them. I just finished reading George Harrison Living in the Material World written by his wife Olivia. It contains alot of great pictures, mostly taken by George himself.
Whenever I listen to this song, I get shivers like crazy! Some of my favourite music artists together making beautiful, memorable music. RIP George and Roy.
I saw Rob Orbison in concert a few years before his death. What an incredible voice he had!
