@ibanezjeff28 He did, you MUST use the clutch for downshifting else you tear the engine apart. For shifting up you don't even have to use the clutch you can do it without. Or you just tip it a bit, I press it half way and then shift up. When you are in higher speeds, like above 180km/h you can shift up without it, its easier and faster :)

@engaurd whenever i use the rear brake in any other situation i use it very lightly. it also depends on the surface. if u got lots of slippery sand and shit on the road and no ABS it makes sense to use the rear brake only because it's easier to control the sliding back than losing the front end.

Calif SBS taught me not to use it above 5mph but I dunno, I think its obviously v. useful @ low spds and if u dont understand that ur thick as sh!t, but on track I'm not so sure

I always use the rear brake just a little b4 I get on the front and the harder I squeeze the front I start easing off the rear as I transfer the weight to the front. It's very difficult to concentrate on not locking the rear when entering a corner so most racers/riders don't use it too much at all. Once u got the front engaged and all the weight is transferred it doesnt take much pressure to lock up the rear. And yes it's a fairly beginner style to brake early, release, tip in etc. Obviously u

I use one finger to brake, on the road and when I used to race, and I now have carpel tunnel syndrome, so perhaps 2 or even 3 fingers might be the go. And braking markers "can be anything", that's true - anything not moveable. Don't use a refreshment stand by the side of the track that sets up 15 meters closer to the corner tomorrow. The results can be painful.

this is the way HOW NOT TO TAKE A FAST brake for a corner..

Since you got a SS you brake inside at the top of the corner and you get a gear or more down so you can have a fast exit of the corner -depends what someone consider fast-

This way to break on a corner is for beginners who instead of byuing first a mopad they bought a SS.

@baunceychillups its called rev matching. You do it when you downshift. Clutch in, blip the throttle and shift. It adjust engine speed with the throttle, instead of using the clutch.

@rebelelite11 Stay in gear until you are stopped. Gently pull in the clutch right before your engine would start to speed you up at idle, so roughly 5-10 mph.

You want to stay in gear so you can keep control of your bike. In neutral, you lose ability to speed up and control engine speed relative to the road.

@rebelelite11 use engine braking to slow gradually using both brakes in conjunction if its a routine stop. i dont think emergency stops need to be explained, maintain balance, use both brakes, be carefull with the front brake.use your clutch to disengage engine, do not downshift suddenly , you mightlock your back tire and make things a lot worse.

thats how i do it anyways, i ride my bike through city traffic everyday and i ride a little fast but safe and havnt been in any accidents in yrs
