this movie was terrible. In my 2 worst movies that i have seen in 2009, Bruno and Transformers 2: Revenge of the fallen are mine. this had too many gay puns, just unfunny, seems like he is just doing the same thing through out the WHOLE film. I HATE THIS FILM. ITS ONE OF THE WORST FILMS IV EVER SEEN!!!

The blocked sections ie round black circles / pixilation were on all versions worldwide, some countries asked for larger blocks but were informed that these actually make the view believe the scenes were real. I saw it the other night - the cage fight - ha hah haha ha.

I didn't really enjoy the film. Some of the scenes were a little outrageous and a little too much of the material in this film. Just my opinion I will give it a 2 out of 5.

Well I myself wasn't the "victim" of any Bruno joke, only the beneficiary! So I have no motive for making the observation, other than that was my impression as a viewer.... I say "staged" as in, not pure ambush all the time; i.e. some constructs seemed to be used, such as possible plants. For example: the S&M woman at the swingers' party, the host and possibly some audience members in the talk show scene, and some spectators at the cage match scene.

I hear a lot of people saying that scenes were staged, and I think this is more people not wanting to be the victim of the joke and act like they knew all along. Please give me an example of a staged scene involving another person that is not one of the assitants. I just saw the movie and none struck me as staged.

Wow I couldn't agree with you more! I found Bruno as a character was much more lovable than the more racist Borat, however I found that the movie overall was not as good as Borat due to the sexual shock value tactics.

Isn't it funny that some of the gags and jokes went on TOO LONG, despite the movie being only 1hr 20mins long! I find that really disappointing.

Overall I couldn't agree with you review more. Excellent job! Looking forward to more reviews!

Great review. I completely agree with the idea that he is exposing idiots around him as apposed to expressing homophobia (or in the case of Borat, racism.) A lot of people on Youtube don't seem to agree, and label Cohen a bigot. I think some people are letting their oversensitivity cloud their perspective on this, but that seems to be what happens when you make a movie that combines satire with the politics of race, sexual orientation, or religion.

Well, Fartface, as a mom myself, I do have to say I think this film is totally inappropriate for a viewer your age! You don't have the 'sophistication' of context to put some of the more outrageous humour/attitudes in perspective. I'm glad you had some good laughs; but maybe talk to your mom about some of the context and messages the film presents. Maybe that would help her be less upset! ;)

Definitely some scenarios are somewhat staged, or some of the people are planted. I don't mind that TOO much, as I figure it's necessary to get the scene/material to work. It still does feel mostly spontaneous, to me.

NOOOOO!!!!!! The vein of humor and most scenarios are quite mature/scandalous. Extreme overt sexuality is used to provoke responses onscreen, and many of the responses are themselves disturbing in their ignorance. A social perspective could be discussed with older teens, but otherwise the raw humor and outlandishness is definitely not kid-friendly!!!!!!

I totally agree with everythign you say here. It was hilarious but some of the gags went on a bit and were possibly staged. I'd say the dominatrix one out of most was probably hired. Hehe, flapping penis indeed ^_^. "This is worse than cancer"
