Even with practice, it's really hard to play. This script was more a proof of concept than anything. Using ppjoy for analog joystick emulation would have certainly worked better than emulating keyboard input.
The motoGP in this video is the THQ franchise. Namco had done some games for the PS2, but THQ's games had a feel and level of polish that set them apart. If Capcom's not doing a Wii port I say "No big loss." But Capcom holding the license means that THQ can't do a port, and that's sad news.
Wow. Great work on that script. You need more practice tho ;)
Regarding the comment (by caffeicaddiction) about latency between input and screen action. Have you ever tried any of the motogp games. There is a latency, no matter what input device you use.
If this is adjustable, it could be suited for each riders likings. I could put my wii controllers to good usage with this. Too bad MotoGP has not seen the Apple screens :(
Keep up the good work. I'd like to try this sometime..
Thanks! I don't remember checking to see if I could adjust the input timing in the game, because I generally try to write scripts that can work with the game immediately after install. If I revisit this script in the future, I'll look into that.
well watching this vid only proves my point that Wiimote has this delay between your movement and when the game actually responds. now it is okay if you are playing FPS but when you are driving as the vid clearly shows... it's complete unusable.
This doesn't prove your point at all. Read my script and you'll see that I've added delays, which fall on top of the latency added in the processing of the script, and the game's own slow keyboard controls.
The volume on the TV was at an acceptable level, but when I have it hooked up to the camera, it's so loud that it's distorted. After I remembered to turn it down for the video, I couldn't hear it on the TV anymore.
You should see how much worse I am with a keyboard! It does take practice to be any good at this game (with ANY input device), but I haven't invested the time yet.
if you do the fourth screen you will ride beter

I seriously need this script.
Should have know this existed before I started playing Pure with a car-racing script.

I MUST BUY MOTO GP 2008 Wii. I think with the game Capcom create a new joystick like a real motorbike

wii controler is very bad for playing this game, for more compétitive sensation use XBox 360 controler..........

This was meant as a proof of concept. Nintendo will be using a similar method of control in the Power Cruiser game on Wii Sports Resort.

It's not my license agreement, and my use of GlovePIE is in no way meant as an endorsement of the beliefs expressed in it.

The disturbing thing about the beginning of this clip is that you had the volume maxed out... how's your hearing?

That it does, especially considering its age. And it runs very well on relatively low end hardware.
