if you get stronger you get faster i think a few ouces wont make a difference when the others can spend their whole minute or so biking at max protential and not just thinking well im at 75% max protential but my bike will cover the rest...

@jay29031 Track Bikes/Road bikes all have one gear. It's pretty common. Then there are a good bunch who ride their fixed gear bikes with no brakes as it is possible to slow down and stop using just your back legs. I ride a fix gear and I love it! I have front brakes though so cops don't haggle me, but I never use them.

i think when they say one million dollars they are referring to the amount of research put into it and the design process. The materials themselves may not be worth 1 million dollars but hiring all the different scientists and the cost of testing mostly likely reached a large sum of money...

It's just a carbon fiber bike with some graphics and a stiffened up frame. I guess they spent like 3 grand and the rest on who knows what. A million dollar bike is just a stupid title. I could fabricate that in my garage or basement with no problem with the help of some craigslist ovens and some fiber glass and resin with the oh so secet carbon fiber and a few cans of paint. Million dollar bike I think not. They may have more money but I have skills.

I had a bike from 98 with digital controlled suspension so what the fuck, that's aerospatial technology, even for today standards. So these news people who claim that bike is one of the most expensive they have no ideea :), you can grab a pice o bike like that - verry similar in performance - for just 6000-10000 dollars.

Mountin bike 2003 xtr chainset M960 costed a couple of millions of dollars in developpment, but because was made to be sold in ten of thounsands of samples, it costed aroun 700 dollars. A top-end mountbike developpment with all pieces included, costs around 20 millions dollars in developpment atleast but once again, been made to be sold in ten of thousand, it's sold at a "bargain" price of 7000 dollars. F1 technology at 7000 dollars, no, it;s even better, it;s more durable.
