  • * audio and picture :)

  • Have to say, I love the original, but The Mondays do a very good job here.

  • rEminds me of Dylan for some reason..

  • awsome tune, must be a good 10 year fae av heard this

  • Bloody hell I havent heard this record for donkeys years, I have this on 12" somewhere! fantastic!

  • The John Kongos LP version rules! like the Happy's version too there's room and groove enough to go round but I do think the Hp's needs to publicly acknowledge John Kongos as the writer!

  • @timothy080898 he's gonna step on you again is by him n'all

  • top spot for them covers are good copys covered well and i want an e listening to this again or an a

  • One of there best

  • mondays rule.

  • please make a single...today jan 2010

  • still prefer he original by John Kongos.

  • This was also on the Elektra records 40th anniversary album, "Rubaiyat".

  • i rememeber seein them o this on the word, when shaun was well twatted

  • Re: John Kongos debate, probably depends how old you, ie: first heard this version in my teens & blows me away, Rowetta at the end going on gospelish, pure driving trak, , ohhwoarrr...however the John Kongos is a more rawer "version" methinks, dunno this one might be have to be solved by bringing in them audio experts, musicalogist? audio-olgist

  • yup depends on how old you are. I like the Kongos original much better.

  • excellent. just picked this up on vinyl. go shaun!

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah 90s at geoff's house!!

  • yeeeeah 90s!!

  • out of tune?? take some pills that will clean it up

    ;)

  • good man!

  • @vishvinnie lets not forget tony, you judge him however, but he made this shit happen

  • @24fink

    RIP Tony

Your bands may have only sold a fraction of anything that Simon Cowell releases, but people will still be dancing to the Mondays and tunes from Factory Records long after every reality TV and talent show wanabee

  • Not bad but lacks some of the bite of the original by John Kongos , check it out if you've not heard it.

  • i agree . it isnt a bad version but the original by JK is still the best

  • Oh absolutley :it's got no grunt.

There's no drive or bite to this version.

  • Anaemic.

That's the word I was looking for.

  • i believe 'anemic' is the word you're looking for. if you intend to criticize something, at least do it correctly. and this is fucking boss, just like almost everything this giant of a band did.

  • why did it take me 30 years to hear of this band ?

Any other bands making similar music..I could listen to their stuff forever.

  • try googling "Madchester", stone roses, inspiral carpets and a shit load more came outta that scene but Mondays had to be the livelest of fuckers....

  • yay i got it but not many of us left.. this one shakes the building x

  • I love love this song.too bad that you don't have video

  • Aye - Greatsong - but well off tune - shocking for a professional band - expected better

  • great cover

    love the mondays

    dont miss on tour !

  • great song
