Bond and Vanessa Mae were the original instumental girl bands. They inspired bands like Escala. They also have the most originality. Escala plays mostly copy tunes. I do like them a lot. I rooted for them to win Britains Got Talent. However they are not of the same caliber as Bond. Bond is a true Tito thumbs up.
@mtalsi1 Glad you asked. My gut feeling is that Escala are very sincere about their art and have worked hard at it, whereas Bond seem to rely more on sex appeal and back up bands which to me makes them seem more commercially oriented. And I much prefer Escala's version of Palladio, the tempo is spot on.

What I like most is about this band is that the attention is equally divided. There's no singer at the center of attention like most bands these days have.
man i've been trying to find this song by them but i cant seem to find it anywhere and the worst part is that i dont know the name of the song im soooo frutrated

I agree. This is lovely, but there is something edgier and sexier (not visually, but musically) about Escala's rendition that is addictive... it's like classical rock... whereas this is like classical pop or something. I can't explain it. If Escala is copying Bond, then I think they are outdoing them musically. Just my opinion. :)
There's no comparison between Bond and Escala. Escala is a direct copy of Bond, down to the clothes, poses, everything. They even play a lot of Bond's music and are more like a tribute band. But good luck to them!
@SilentCamara I beg to differ. Escala has shown they're own style. The dressing is almost COMPLETELY different. Poses, well, being a string player, I can tell you that there are only so many poses that fit together when you have a cellist standing. The instrument is different from the rest and is more restricting where that is concerned. Just as you have to choreograph dances, that would take choreographing. So they'd all fit together as a group. Even so, there is little similarity.
This track was originally recorded by Bond. It is called ALLEGRETTO and by Karl Jenkins. Escala copied the idea from Bond and used it on Britain's Got Talent as their "signature tune" and used the original title "Palladio".
You are GREAT. Escala is too. You all should get together.
Do a world tour with some well chosen canons. That would be awesome. All the guys would literally faint from all the beauty on one small stage. They'd try to close their eyes, but there wouldn't be enough skin left over.
Actually that's the good part of their music. They get some music sheets that anyone knows (like Palladio from Karl Jenkins) and let it being discovered for the people who likes pop music.. Then after that they will know even more of all the good sheets that all those genius led to us.
do you play violin? Or an instrument? XD, well, when I get into it, or when most players get into playing, they sway or move around because they somewhat have connected with the piece, and have reached a certain level where they'd practically scream out loud if they could. For one thing, Bond didn't "rip off" Karl Jenkins.
They credited him.
And by the way, if you think they ripped him off, they must have ripped off lots of others too.
Victory samples Barber of Seville
Viva samples Vivaldis Winter.
And I'm pretty sure there are tons of others.
And if Bond are considered rip offs, so are escala considering that they did a version of Live and Let Die.
