The Dallas play was a fumble. Tom Brady comnpleted the throwing motion then he got hit and Dallas scored. That play was called correctly. The Patriots Raiders game was called correctly.
It was the right call. In the other video Brady recocks. Look up the tuck rule. If you recock, as Brady did in the second one, it's a fumble. simple stuff. learn the rule.
I don't think any team should be at fault, its the damn refs. They have botched a whole lot of important games with mindless decisions. As a Raider fan this play and Lytle's fumble in 1978 is a real pisser. Charger fans remember the "Immaculate Deception" with Stabler's fumble(incomplete pass). Instead of humbling themselves refs simply change the rule for the next year!
The tuck rule states that as long as your arm is going forward and the ball is away from your body, by the rulebook, that is an incomplete pass. Now the Dallas play was a fumble, Brady's arm was not going forward, therefore the tuck rule doesn't apply in that situation. In the Raiders game, Brady's arm was going forward. and since the ball was away from Tom Brady's body, the tuck rule applyed in that game.
everyone snubs the raiders fuck tom brady... how can people say that the raiders dont get snubbed afyer sapp didnt make the pro bowl last year HOW THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN. im pretty sure he lead all dt's in sacks its horseshit
if it was in oakland that never woulda happened, if that ref valued his LIFE that is, i dont even like the raiders and ill admit they got robbed, its funny how at crucial moments the hat is "tipped" in the pats favor, im sure they dont pay the refs off or anything, they wont be remembered as a dynasty because its all tainted
But it's obvious they were straight-up fucked on this play. This bullshit was one of the biggest officiating screw-jobs in the history of the NFL.
Out of the blue, the refs suddenly decided to creatively interpret the rulebook in an absurd and unprecedented way, at the most critical moment of the entire game. WTF?
If I were a Raiders fan, I'd never stop bitching about it.
With the immaculate reception, all the ball had do to was touch Jack Tatum, then the ball could touch as many offensive players as possible. After the ball went over Fuqua's head, the ball had to have touched Tatum for the ball to travel in the other direction. And I've seen a video where they show the ball touching Jack Tatum. And we have Gene Upshaw's confession that the ball didn't touch the ground. From the back angle of that play, it shows that the ball didn't touch the ground
Actually, it was the proper interpretation of the tuck rule. People have said that it is a bad rule. If it is the proper interpretation of a bad rule, then the Raiders did not get screwed over. Even if the refs interpret an absurd rule, it still means that the play was called correctly according to the rulebook. And there are more important things to worry about than the tuck rule.
Re: "And there are more important things to worry about than the tuck rule."
No kidding. The way Belichick's cheating marred the outcome of several seasons (for which we'll never know who the champions should have been) was far more worrisome for the NFL than just the tuck play.
"And there are more important things to worry about than the tuck rule."
No kidding. Belichick's cheating marred the final results of SEVERAL seasons, and we'll never know who the champions should have been during those years.
Well, since spygate didn't become illegal until 2006, all of the championchips are not tainted. And when I said that there were more important things to worry about, I meant the events going on in the world. And about the tuck rule. they interpreted that Brady's arm was going forward, and as long as your arm is going forward, it's still a pass. How is that so hard to understand?
@patsrule213 Ask anybody except another Patriots fan if those titles are tainted or not. End of story.
As for the Tuck play, of the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of times this sort of play occurred in the past, it was always called a fumble (regardless of the rulebook) until THIS occasion, at THIS moment of THIS game. Why do you think the play is so well-known and controversial? Because everybody knows what a hose-job it was.
Why can't you just accept that I went out and did the research about spygate and concluded that the prior championchips were not tainted. If they were tainted, why was no one complaining in 2001, 2003, or 2004? It's because spygate was legal until 2006, and when they broke this new rule in 2006, they got fined and lost a draft pick. And it wasn't that they were taping signals, it was where they were taping the signals that was illegal.
@SDChargersForever I made my decision based on facts, if my facts had said that the Super Bowls were tainted, then I would tell you that they were tainted. There was no rule in 2004 that said spygate was illegal. The memo came out in 2006 that said you can't videotape from the sidelines, you have to tape from the grandstands. Belichick thought that you still could do that but not use the tapes during games, which he was wrong. He got caught in 2007. What's so hard to understand?
I'm not asking you to agree with me, I'm asking you to look at facts and logic and I want you to make an informed decision based on the facts and logic. And fyi, I actually convinced a Raider fan that the tuck rule was the correct call based on me telling him facts and then he interpreted the facts and came to the conclusion that I was right about the tuck rule.
"Page 105 of the 2007 NFL Game Operations Manual states, "No video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game...All video shooting locations must be enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead.". This is the actual rule that I stated. This rule proves that the Patriots titles are not tainted. So go tell all your non-Patriots fans that they aren't tainted.
This was a clear fumble. I saw the Brady interview after the play and he was like "uh ok if you say so". Fucking bitch, if he had one shred of brain cells, he'd of said that was a fumble. Screw the Pats. I'm glad a guy by the name of Tuck made them eat their words in the past SB. GO RAIDERS!!!!!

the call they missed in Oakland, was Woodson smacking Brady upside the head, watch the video.... that would have been a 15yd penalty, and worse for the Raiders overall. Evens it all out. I love being hated as a team, it means you're kicking ass out there, and the hate is just a way for big boys to whine
are you blind? I have watched the video three times...HELL I sent it to my buddy over AIM nether one of us can find this "smack upside the head". CW hits him from behind and brady falls over.
you aren't going to the playoffs because half your team went to Cabo for a drunken vacation, while the winner was practicing on the bye week. also there will be no asterisk beside anything the Patriots do, because there doesn't need to be.
Does anyone else find it just wonderfully ironic that one of the biggest plays last night was a sack and fumble on Brady caused by someone with the last name Tuck?
the truth is, the patriots have the pinstripes and the rest of the nfl swinging from their nuts. seriously. the shit that they get away with is far worse than anything else other teams get away with. a bad call is a bad call, but brady blatantly fumbled that ball (afc champ game), and knew it as he walked off the field with his head down.
Uh, no. In the Dallas game his arm is clearly coming back up again. He is recocking the ball. That was a fumble. You guys should try learning the rules of the game. Yes, maybe the tuck rule sucks, but then why is it still around if it's so bad. Funny thing is, the tuck rule play would not have even taken place if the Patriots didn't lose a game to the Jets due to the tuck rule back in 2001.
The tuck rule means once your arm starts moving forward in a passing motion, you cannot fumble until one of two things happen. One, you tuck the ball into your body. Two, you move the ball upwards as if you're about to recock it. That's the rule.
Well, it wouldn't make any difference since the rule says you need to either recock the ball or tuck it into the body for it to be a tuck.
That being said, Brady had one hand on the ball until he was hit (illegally in the head, I might add) and the hit drove the ball into his other hand as it was coming out of his right. Brady never pats the ball when he throws or recocks.
yeah it sucked losin to tampa! The pats never blew a superbowl did they?Oh thats right before brady stole our rings, and got the refs in his pocket, you got smoked by da BEARS and da PACKERS.Who was ur quarterbacks then?I hope the pats do go 16-0.only thing worst than losing a playoff game is blowing perfection when u do!
lol, one thing i can say is that brady made a "football move" in the dallas game so it shouldn't be a tuck, but in the raiders game, he never had a chance to make a "football move"
but whatever, this was 5 years ago, time to stop saying coulda woulda shoulda. the game wasn't over, the raiders still had a chance to come up big
THANK GOD YOU ALL SEE THE SAME THIN I DO...I watched the 'Tuck-Rule bowl' live and it was a fucking nightmare to me, an absolute nightmare. And anybody else who's a Raider fan would know that was just the beginning
Every time The Raiders would make a play there would be a penalty flag...of course they are only 4 and 8 right now because they still to this day have to play against the refs along with the other team!!!
Oh fucking cry some more, all of you who bitch about the Tuck-Rule game. Face the facts, the Raiders SUCK! Always have, always will, what's your excuses now that they are at the bottom of the AFC West??? You cant sit and say Rich Gannon was a great QB, most of you all forgot his name already! To hell with you all, 3 Superbowls, how many does Oakland have? Didnt they lose to Tampa Bay? So Suck it, all of you
And up until a couple of years ago, the Raiders were the most winningest team in SPORTS HISTORY. So suck it, all of you Patriot lovers. Pats are the luckiest team in the NFL, refs always fuck the opposing team over.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Yeah 3 titles spanned over a period of time, the Patriots titles are 3 in 4 years! That's a dynasty pal, not like the Raiders. Lucky team? No. Luck doesn't get you 13-0, and having Brady 5 TDs from beating Manning's record or Moss 4TDs from passing Rice's. That's call TALENT! Unlike that shit team in Oakland, and by the way, didn't GB just stomp you guys out today? Losers.
Huh? You asked how many super bowls the raiders have won and I told you. The time span in which the super bowls were won means nothing, 3 championships is 3 championships anyway you slice it. Only difference is your cheating team has only recently begun to do something noteworthy. And about GB stompin Oakland today.. gee, lets see.. 4-9 team vs 11-2 team, you're surprised with the outcome? Go tape some more coach signals for Belichump and pay off more refs please.
How about the Jets? Anyone been watching the news? They did the same goddamn thing in the playoff game against the Patriots last year and was caught, then it comes out that all 32 teams have done the same thing, including your shitty fucking Raiders, so how was it fair to throw the penalty on the Patriots? It's because you losers are fucking jealous ofa REAL team! So suck it you worthless bitches, they won this season fair, the NFL has ruled so as well
Uhh.. You're the one who started this whole grammar thing. Don't you remember this: "but most winningest is not proper grammar"? Ah well, i'm done wasting my time with these damn Youtube kids. You win, buddy, congrats. You win the arguement and everything. I suck, you're the best, etc...
ima big raiders fan that shit is burnt man, it ain't even funny dawg, we all know that the refs' favorite temas are cowboys and the cheatriots. And y'all right man we got screwed by the refs and the cheatriots are fat pricks that are disrespectful and that always have their refs on they jocks.
Did you see this game?? They called so many bullshit calls on the Cowboys, it's not even funny. If there's one franchise you cant claim is loved by the league, its the Boys. They're one of the most penalized teams in football.
Tell me about it. I've seen DeMarcus Ware AND Greg Ellis get called for off-sides when they were still on their own side of the line of scrimmage while the ball was snapped. Not only that, but I saw Greg Ellis get called for off-sides when the play clock hit 0 before the snap (which should've been a delay of game, which overrides off-sides if it happens before the off-sides)
Did you see this game?? They called so many bullshit calls on the Cowboys, it's not even funny. If there's one franchise you cant claim is loved by the league, its the Boys. They're one of the most penalized teams in football.
Excellent video. I am a big football fan and I even played a little and I never heard of the tuck rule until that day. I hate Tom Brady, I hate the Patriots and yes there hole dynasty is tainted. This video proves it!
Sorry, I forgot they ruled the Cowboys one a fumble. Yes, these are VERY similar... Raiders got screwed, and the Pats got a HUGE gift that led to their dynasty.
Hopefully it all falls apart this year. Nothing would please me more than seeing the Pats go undefeated all the way to the Super Bowl, be 30+ point favorites against the NFC team (probably the Cowboys), and then they LOSE! Brady would start crying...
Oh fuck you , you stupid asshole, the "spygate"? Come on, the tapes never even made it to the hands of the Patriots! The guy was caught before he reached them so how did that give NE the edge? It didn't! The Jets are awful this year, period, so the tapes aren't an excuse. Besides that, the Patriots WONT lose the Supoerbowl like you hope, so suck it. The Raiders aren't even considered a dynasty!
Belicheat AUTHORIZED TAPING OF OPPONENT'S DEFENSIVE SIGNALS, in Week 1! That being said, how can you say for sure that it was the first (and only) time it happened?
Most bank robbers get caught b/c they do it again! And it was only because Mangini was TIPPED OFF to Belcheat's practices. Other teams' suspicions of past "wins" were right!
Yeah, I know the Raiders aren't a dynasty. The Pats are, but it's under the cloud of "tuck" and "taping"
You think that was the first time Belicheat has authorized illegal taping of opponents' defensive signals? I agree that the tapes have no intent on the success of the Patriots this season, but now you have to question the past Patriots seasons under Belichick which includes those 3 Super Bowl seasons.
@clockworkmike83 This is a great comment to read 3 years later. Clockworkmike83 sounds like a bandwagon fan, who is a Patriots fan just so he can rub the noses of other fans in their early 2000s dynasty.
The Pats lost in SBXLII as 14-point favorites, and I think there were many people all across America who sighed a sigh of relief with me and said, "Thank God, this will shut the traps of those cocky Patriots fans." The Patriots are not the team they were back then and may never be again.
@Xhoven Bandwagon fan?!?! You stupid dumb motherfucking 24 year old incest case! I goddamn stuck it out with NE even AFTER losing the perfect season opportunity! I stuck it out when Brady got his ACL/MCL busted opening day the following year! I stuck it out even in the worst of times! Why? Because I am a REAL fan! Real fans stay with their teams no matter how bad times get! Real fans are also people who stood by Detroit even after going 0-16! I hope you were mouth fucked as a child
@clockworkmike83 This comment seems to totally contradict your other ones. Why not let the Raiders fans be loyal to their team, even though they've struggled for the past decade? Patriots fans have a right to be proud of their impressive Super Bowl wins, but not to beat fans of other teams over the head with them. That's being a poor winner.
You are a charmer, wishing I was molested as a child because of one comment I made about your team. Internet talk doesn't go beyond the internet.

but whatever, this was 5 years ago, time to stop saying coulda woulda shoulda. the game wasn't over, the raiders still had a chance to come up big
kyutieboi 4 years ago
THANK GOD YOU ALL SEE THE SAME THIN I DO...I watched the 'Tuck-Rule bowl' live and it was a fucking nightmare to me, an absolute nightmare. And anybody else who's a Raider fan would know that was just the beginning
Every time The Raiders would make a play there would be a penalty flag...of course they are only 4 and 8 right now because they still to this day have to play against the refs along with the other team!!!
sniper10177 4 years ago
Oh fucking cry some more, all of you who bitch about the Tuck-Rule game. Face the facts, the Raiders SUCK! Always have, always will, what's your excuses now that they are at the bottom of the AFC West??? You cant sit and say Rich Gannon was a great QB, most of you all forgot his name already! To hell with you all, 3 Superbowls, how many does Oakland have? Didnt they lose to Tampa Bay? So Suck it, all of you
clockworkmike83 4 years ago
Umm.. Raiders also have 3 Super Bowl titles.
And up until a couple of years ago, the Raiders were the most winningest team in SPORTS HISTORY. So suck it, all of you Patriot lovers. Pats are the luckiest team in the NFL, refs always fuck the opposing team over.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Yeah 3 titles spanned over a period of time, the Patriots titles are 3 in 4 years! Losers.
clockworkmike83 4 years ago
TooLbandDotCom 4 years ago
But the patriots cheat. So how can you argue with that?
boriskrunch 4 years ago 2
How about the Jets? Anyone been watching the news? They did the same goddamn thing in the playoff game against the Patriots last year and was caught, then it comes out that all 32 teams have done the same thing, including your shitty fucking Raiders, so how was it fair to throw the penalty on the Patriots? It's because you losers are fucking jealous ofa REAL team! So suck it you worthless bitches, they won this season fair, the NFL has ruled so as well
clockworkmike83 4 years ago
actually the jets had permission from the patriots and they did not tape the sidelines they taped from the endzone towards the game
dimboazz 4 years ago
The Patriots say they never gave permission.
So what you're saying is, in the future, if a cameraman is caught, all he has to say is, "I have permission."

haha most winningest
XMiddleXWelchX5 4 years ago
Winningest is a word. Go look it up if you're not too busy watching coach signals.
TooLbandDotCom 4 years ago
yeah winningest is a word, but most winningest is not proper grammar. it would be that they are the winningest, not the most winningest
XMiddleXWelchX5 4 years ago
You know, lack of punctuation is not proper grammar either. Figured i'd point that out since we're nitpicking now.
TooLbandDotCom 4 years ago
haha wow nerd
XMiddleXWelchX5 4 years ago

And y'all right man we got screwed by the refs and the cheatriots are fat pricks that are disrespectful and that always have their refs on they jocks.
sexyballafareel 4 years ago
thats because the NFL loves the Cowboys and Patriots, therefore they had to be fair on this one...
nlknnjkjkbkbvhvg 4 years ago
Did you see this game?? They called so many bullshit calls on the Cowboys, it's not even funny. If there's one franchise you cant claim is loved by the league, its the Boys. They're one of the most penalized teams in football.
the512messikan 4 years ago
Tell me about it. I've seen DeMarcus Ware AND Greg Ellis get called for off-sides when they were still on their own side of the line of scrimmage while the ball was snapped. Not only that, but I saw Greg Ellis get called for off-sides when the play clock hit 0 before the snap (which should've been a delay of game, which overrides off-sides if it happens before the off-sides)

Excellent video. I am a big football fan and I even played a little and I never heard of the tuck rule until that day. I hate Tom Brady, I hate the Patriots and yes there hole dynasty is tainted. This video proves it!
juliotalavera07 4 years ago 2
You can't be a big football fan if you never heard of the tuck rule. It gets called 5 times a year EVERY year. You must not be much of a fan.
UdReks 4 years ago
Sorry, I forgot they ruled the Cowboys one a fumble. Yes, these are VERY similar... Raiders got screwed, and the Pats got a HUGE gift that led to their dynasty.
Hopefully it all falls apart this year. Nothing would please me more than seeing the Pats go undefeated all the way to the Super Bowl, be 30+ point favorites against the NFC team (probably the Cowboys), and then they LOSE! Brady would start crying...
DBeckham512 4 years ago
you called it bro. Exept it was the Giants
gonzo2312003 4 years ago
BOTH of these were ruled incomplete passes? Ridiculous...
DBeckham512 4 years ago
Sorry, I forgot the 2nd one was a fumble. The Raiders one should've been. The whole dynasty is tainted...
Tuck rule + Spygate = Pats are overrated. I'd give anything to see them lose in the Super Bowl this year.
DBeckham512 4 years ago 3
Oh fuck you , you stupid asshole, the "spygate"? Come on, the tapes never even made it to the hands of the Patriots! The guy was caught before he reached them so how did that give NE the edge? It didn't! The Jets are awful this year, period, so the tapes aren't an excuse. Besides that, the Patriots WONT lose the Supoerbowl like you hope, so suck it. The Raiders aren't even considered a dynasty!
clockworkmike83 4 years ago
Belicheat AUTHORIZED TAPING OF OPPONENT'S DEFENSIVE SIGNALS, in Week 1! That being said, how can you say for sure that it was the first (and only) time it happened?
Most bank robbers get caught b/c they do it again! And it was only because Mangini was TIPPED OFF to Belcheat's practices. Other teams' suspicions of past "wins" were right!
Yeah, I know the Raiders aren't a dynasty. The Pats are, but it's under the cloud of "tuck" and "taping"
DBeckham512 4 years ago

Xhoven 5 months ago
@Xhoven Bandwagon fan?!?! You stupid dumb motherfucking 24 year old incest case! I goddamn stuck it out with NE even AFTER losing the perfect season opportunity! I stuck it out when Brady got his ACL/MCL busted opening day the following year! I stuck it out even in the worst of times! Why? Because I am a REAL fan! Real fans stay with their teams no matter how bad times get! Real fans are also people who stood by Detroit even after going 0-16! I hope you were mouth fucked as a child
clockworkmike83 5 months ago
@clockworkmike83 This comment seems to totally contradict your other ones. Why not let the Raiders fans be loyal to their team, even though they've struggled for the past decade? Patriots fans have a right to be proud of their impressive Super Bowl wins, but not to beat fans of other teams over the head with them. That's being a poor winner.
You are a charmer, wishing I was molested as a child because of one comment I made about your team. Internet talk doesn't go beyond the internet.

@Xhoven Don't give a flying fuck really pal.
