There must be at least a dozen animated Jungle Book productions (mostly one-shots on VHS) and a couple of live action ones. I think I saw at least three animations and I have never seen the Disney movie. Man, before 2000s they animated stuff like Tarzan. I hope they'll eventually start animating those old stories again.

I remember seeing this as an English version on the Christian channel INSP - ( The Inspirational Network ) back in the late 90's. I love this Japanese version way better than the Disney version. Disney's is more like a Broadway musical , while the Japanese carried the story out as an action / adventure serial. Plus the Japanese version had something Disney didn't......... A CUTE RED PANDA!!! I actually had a dream one time that I had the red panda character with me. He was nice and soft too. lol
