You live in the Hampton's by choice so you will pay a premium for everything. I got smart and moved off of Long Island back in 1983. I'm in Tennessee, guess what low, low taxes. in 29 years my property taxes on 2 acres are under $150 for a whole year. no traffic, I remember when it would take 3-4 hours from Amagansett to Rocky Point, no snow, no mosquito's, no hurricanes / noreasters .. I was appointed to the LIRR Commuter Council by NY GOV Carey in 1981 to get intra county services.
Yeah, let's get the MTA to take it over. But hey, you'll have to whine and cry like a baby havfing to pay $2.50. Why not force the taxios to charge less, or make the MTA to pick you up at your doorstep. GROW UP!!!!!!
Hampton Jitney is a private company, they can do whatever they want. Its not up to the government to tell them how much they can charge. You are really out of your mind.
Comments pending approval - I wonder why? Because you know how much of a whiny little faggot you are? Let me see, you're either cheap, or poor. Either way, take the LIRR and keep your lowlife mouth shut about my awesome bus you jealous DIIIIIIIIICK
That's because of people like you and your language and childish personal attacks. I'll just leave this one up as an example of some of the idiots I have to put up with here.
jonnyghoul you obviously know nothing of the LIRR. It is not even CLOSE to a means of public transportation for people who do not drive. There are usually THREE trains a day, one of which is at the crack of dawn & another is around 11pm. The bus line used to run every hour & would drop you virtually anywhere. There is no comparison.
I think So. Forkers like it this way, keeping those bus people out of their domain. They most assuredly pay their workers' (legal or not) transportation or have them live nearby. You hit the nail on the head in terms of Levy's campaign contribution. Not sure if this might help, but I understand Trailways buses stop in Mineola on their way to Babylon (except Sundays) and vice versa. Might be worth looking them up and if there's enough demand they might work to fill this service gap.
