As much fun as it might be to entertain in a niche market, maybe the group wanted the kind of exposure a show like this can provide, since more than just children watch it. Strange how "fans" of an artist always seem to know what's better for the artist than the artist does. It's just One song on a kids' show - doubtful it will be a career killer. Other groups have done it and lived.
