My friend Jackson is terrified of rollercoasters, but me and my friend Sabrina were able to talk him into riding this one. He was so scared, I had sat in front of them with a little girl who didn't have anyone to ride with, while Sabrina sat with Jackson. He was deathly quiet the entire ride, of course him being him made snide comments about the fire and everything. End of the ride though, he was white faced and white knuckled from holding the bar so tightly. I have never seen him so scared.

@ahhculdee It was called Flooded Mine but changed it to Blazing Fury. Either way it's always on my list to ride...at least 5-6 times! LOL! Never gets old!

@gleek4life1 No Blazing Fury was established in 1978-1979,but Flooded Mine was removed in the 90`s to make room for Daredevil Falls,and Blazing Fury was still there.It`s one my favorite rides at Dollywood.I didn`t like it when they took out some of the theme and splashdown out.

@adam94081, I don't know. They said they were have technical difficulties. The smoke was probably burned rubber from the light of the fire. I was riding and my sisters got so freaked out.

when i was a kid they had a really slow day there and no one at all was going on this ride so i just sat there and they would restart the ride again and i went on the thing by myself without even having to get out like 6 or 7 times before i had to leave.

love those types of rides because you get cool visual treats and then the roller coaster surprise too. the mummy ride in orlando is like that also, i want to go on them both right now

I gotta say, this ride really disappointed me. I couldn't see a thing, and you couldn't enjoy the scenery because you were anticipating some random drop. At least Dollywood has Mystery Mine, ThunderHead, and Tennessee Tornado to make up for it.
