  • ...I had this song on my psp for the longest time, years ago......good times...

  • @dulaomnagala first off dubstep like skrillex and bassnectar is very different than what dubstep was meant to be and has evolved with its popularity growing in the states and so on, dubstep orignally came from adding synthetic drum beats (dubbing) to traditional dance hall and reggea songs from Jamaica but yea for the most part i completely agree most of it is shit.

  • Do the animators make animations for Yo Gabba Gabba too? lol

  • 1:35 why did he do that!?

  • every time i see a deadmau5 head i think of this video. then i think about if he got the idea from this video. then i think about the low possibility of that being true. then i say f#ck it and serve myself a bowl of cereal.

  • Sucks that I always hear the outback commercial in my ears when I listen to this.

  • twitching with pleasure -_0

  • Wow I already know I'm going to love this band

  • this song make's me tired.

  • euclide brought me here

  • SEAN PETTIT!!!!!

  • today I fell in love with Of Montreal, a love that will hardly fade away or be challenged by other sounds in this universe...

  • my immediate thought after listening to this song was "oh my fuck, I need to smoke.."

  • Haters gon' hate B) mainly because you're all a bunch of hipster fags :D

  • A wannabe could be someone who bought a bunch of prerecorded loops and then played a chord over it, ran that through all the filters he got with abelton which he learned how to use on youtube. Then calls himself a songwriter. Or a musician. When at the end of the day he is a button pushing dj. back in the day the gap between musician and a dj was huge. Now thanks to the jersey shore generation its just a thin line. Thanks you dicks!

  • To those who believe that the guy who made the comment above actually thinks this a dub step song. You are retarded and cant read. He was pointing out how much better this music is. If that is your defense to his comment and I never heard that noise you call music. Then hands down he wins by logic. Those people who comment on this thread make fans of dub step music look ridiculous. You could defend the music you like but you dont. You just make yourself look foolish.

  • This song is shit.

  • @SonNoir You meant to say, " This song is THE shit." Meaning that this song is just fucking brilliant. (:

  • wow an acorn rocket??? i love this. its so cute

  • If u ask me, dubstep is wannabe music. It's called an instrument, and it takes actual musical talent and time to play well. You don't just mix sounds that are produced artificially while adding layers to fill the cracks; you develop muscle memory to keep up with the rhythm, and then the potential is endless.

  • @nitemare771 Music never was and never will be about the talent of the artist. Popular bands like Half Japanese are clear evidence of this. I like this type of music, and I like lots of the popular dubstep out there as well. If you don't care for dubstep then that is your own problem, not the artists.

  • @nitemare771 Thank goodness I didn't ask you then.

  • @NonisMain ask me what?

  • @nitemare771 I don't enjoy Dubstep either but I can say that it does take talent to make it catchy and sound good, hence why there are tons of crappy DJs out there. Also, I hate to break it to you but all of Of Montreal's songs are layered by Kevin Barnes. Still good music though but its best not to approach the situation as aggressively you did.

  • @FlagsSC Haha, I suppose you're right, but what's the point of commenting on Youtube without posting wat you feel like, I don't see the comments page as a situation. The situation is that i'm sitting comfortably at home, so that's probably why I have a sense of detachment from this thing.

  • @nitemare771 Here's the thing nitemare, North Americans have a misinformed idea of what dubstep actually is. If you want to hear real dubstep listen to Limit to your Love by James Blake. Dubstep doesn't have to be dance music and that is the false impression that many people have. Trust me give that song a try (make sure you listen to it on good quality speakers or with good headphones otherwise you won't be able to hear the bass and the song will sound much much worse).

  • @FlagsSC Thanks for the recommendation, the song was quite deep (literally) lol. I think the base was a little bit repetitive tho, I kept expecting something different to happen, but it never did. I still don't regret hearing it tho, so yeah.

  • @FlagsSC

lol, dubstep is electronic dance music hence the "step" with a deep bass hence the "dub",

    other dub music isn't dubstep.

  • @nitemare771 that's an awfully limited view of music...not defending dubstep here, but I feel you're taking a very "rockist" point of view. If someone were to produce a masterpiece on the level of Bach or Mozart on a computer, does that make his work any less valid. The answer is no, and if you think differently, well then I feel sorry for you.

  • @myguitardidyermom12 I have heard all kinds of good music in my days. if anything, i'm spread out when it comes to taste so I'm not sure wtf "rockist" is supposed to mean. I wouldn't mind listening to a digital masterpiece, if you know of one just point me in the direction. I can make up a question, and then answer it myself too so u can just shove yur pity up your ass.

  • @nitemare771 If you're referring to Skrillex, that isn't dubstep. That's electro house. Do some research before you attack a genre.

  • @Perkerr I didn't feel like i was attacking anything. If you scroll down just a bit more, you'll see that i was responding to somebody that called this song "wannabe dubstep," which I don't think is fair. It was more like a defense if u ask me

  • @nitemare771 kindly, good sir. if you do not like it. then you may fuck off (: have a nice day.

  • @nitemare771 yeah sure the creators are wannabes. but who cares dubstep is dope as fuck!

  • @nitemare771 I take it you know absolutely nothing about music production.

    Also

Good music has absolutely nothing to do with instruments.

Don't try to rationalize the fact that you dislike a certain type of music due to it's contents. If something sounds great to plenty of people, and not to you, it's your problem, not the musician.

  • @Posdrums3 Hahaha, my opinions don't need a rationale, electric music might sound good but it's just not the same. I don't think it matters what you know about music production, we're all enjoying this song nonetheless. When I "produce music" i meet up with my buddies 'n we create awsome sounds with a simple jam session. Guitar, bass, drums. All ya need.

    Also

If I don't succumb to the masses, and listen to crap, I don't see it as a problem. It's just a matter of preference.

  • @nitemare771 What you fail to realize is dubstep actually uses instruments. Yes, everything is edited, yes it is all layered. But you get those sounds through instruments. Whether it's a MIDI keyboard, MIDI guitar, or pad drums. So yes dubstep is music. I love all types of music, but everything is music. It's just what your preference is.

  • @nitemare771 I agree, although you can't be quick to generalize. Check out Haywyre. He plays the piano like a beast and writes chiller funkier dubstep music.

  • @nitemare771 That just depends on what you call an instrument. For example a jazz artist "Hermeto" has used a pig in his songs before. Who the hell thinks a pig is a instrument? Staying on topic i think some dubstep is art but there is much of it that is not. Who are we to decide what an instrument is, who says a computer cannot be one?

  • @nitemare771 I think that what you are describing is an intensely narrow minded view of music. Why can't a computer be an instrument, or a sampler, or a sequencer? Certainly muscle memory is not an acceptable quality to judge musicality by.

  • estos compas se echaron un viajesote

    y apenas volvieron

  • wannabe dubstep

  • @TILF9000 you dont even know what dubstep is if you think this is dubstep

  • @gigixo64 your retarded... if i say this is wannabe dubstep- i obviously dont think this is dubstep- make the connection genious

  • @TILF9000 To even say this song is attempting to sound like some form of dubstep is idiotic...

  • @ShpamWell if you cant make the connections not my problem i really dont give a fuckj

  • the word "wannabe" suggests that they wanted to sound like dubstep, but i don't think that's fair to say since this is definately musicians with a unique style, and it doesn't really sound like dubstep. Dubstep didn't create bass, drums have been around for alot longer. Either way, it's a matter of opinion so i don't get why you're both insulting each others intelligence.

  • okay?

  • Gots me the cravin' for a bloomin' onion with the zesty ranch sauce.

  • omg this is soo awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate people that wear drug rugs (baja hoodies) but don't smoke weed it pisses me off soo much

  • 93 people don't have bizarre celebrations

  • I dare you to be unhappy while listening to this magic!

  • I can't believe the top comment isn't "LET'S PRETEND WE DON'T EXIST! LET'S PRETEND WE'RE IN ANTARCTICA!"

  • Gotta love all the random unexpected violence.

  • i love this! sounds super similar to MGMT

  • @RichOffCocain69 MGMT sounds similiar to this...

  • This came preinstalled on my mp3 player. My relaxation song!

  • @scifiboi1 same! :D

  • They still play this on y100

  • @GUIC3DUP I feel ya brother i feel ya

  • Holy shit, that just blew my mind! It's just so fucking random.

  • Warning: Don't start listening to this or else you'll -never-...and I repeat...NEVER stop listening to it <3

  • THAT BASS.

  • i like the outback video better, but i like this version of the song better. i want to see this video with some outback food in the background.

  • Happy violence is the only good kind of violence.

  • Whoooo!! It makes me dizzy!! In a good way!!

  • This is so awesome and adorable. Yet it's so freaking morbid.

    How is this possible!? D:

  • So 240p. We meet again.

  • Hehe! We watched this is art today! It's really funny.

  • who else thought the vampire bunnies would kill the red ones at the end?

  • When i shoot myself i hope i become snow.

  • @Tarrdica That's a happy thought.

  • Stoner Anthem

  • Also, I want to ride an acorn into outer space goddamnit

  • I can't help but to dance and smile when I hear this song.

  • hipster anthem

  • Other than the Outhouse mistake, it's a great song

  • @DarwinBlinks everyone's gotta eat, whether it makes the song less "indie" is irrelevant with 1m views anyhow. pretty much every band does it. The Doors, Modest Mouse, Phoenix are in a million car commercials. Throw me the Statue!

  • @criket527 The Doors' music hasn't been in any commercials. Light My Fire was going to be in one in 1967 but they changed their minds.

  • I feel like a steak... for some reason...

  • I feel like a sociopath when I watch this video.... I'm okay with that :)

  • Listening to this song makes me so happy... then I watch the video and get even happier!

  • Comment removed

  • this music video is amazing, plus this is one of their best songs

  • My dad personaly MET these guys in a forest!... At a concert! Thumbs up if anyone else did!

  • @Pethelp10 Not many people meet in forestal concerts... No thumbs up for you.

  • @Pethelp10 i may have met them at a bizarre celebration. its the kind of thing you'd think you'd remember. but under those circumstances... you don't.

  • Fuckin great!

  • WHAT. THE. HECK. Oh, and I will not exist, and I like octagons. Lol. >.<

  • i love the planet at 1:56

  • LETS HAVE BIZZARE CELEBRATIONS

  • 240p. We meet again.

  • Gosh I love this band so much.

  • Anyone ever remember the questions for the outback steakhouse?

    "Let's go outback tonight"

    They sung that too =)

  • I should watch this on weed some day. That could be freaky.

  • @MrZachman7 I watch it high everytime...pretty sweet...lets pretend we dont exist

  • @MrZachman7 you dont smoke weed. literally no one says "im on weed duuuuude". your a tool thats kinda freaky but hey you could 'do weed' i dont know what ur into...

  • 240p? What is this, Tribal Africa?

  • I just realized, this video doesn't look like David's art :/ still cute though

  • ...Huh.

So this is what drugs feels like.

  • Let's pretend we don't exist...I do that everyday...

  • It's like happy tree friends only good

  • @maronvonclassypants Its like a bizarre celebration :P

  • let's pretend we don't exist :)

must be a fun thing to do :)

  • .... I'll never think about outback steakhouse the same way again (.__.')

  • fuck that

  • this song is so ironic

  • hahaha awesome video ! and the song is great !

  • This is the kind of shit the Beatles would be doing today had they never broken up.

Wait no, they woulda done this in like the 80s cuz they were so far ahead of their time.

  • @PrimericanIdol naw they would be doing it a month after let it be! :)

  • @PrimericanIdol I always thought the next step of the Beatles would of been something like Oasis.

  • @sargentnoob Me too.

  • this song sounds a lot like the one from the outback commercial that went, "let's go outback tonight, life will still be here tomorrow."

  • Lets go outback tonight

  • this song (along with the video) reminds me of the beatles on 8x the drugs

  • whoa, thaz what i call a catchy bassline with a stylish vocal upon.

    estonishing

  • best band ever, their videos and shows are crazyy

  • bella esta cancion... forza Roma

  • too cool, and to think I'd know nothing of this band if it wasn't for Janelle Monae.

  • Must. Resist. Tapping. Toe. Trying. Not. To. Wake. Parents. :D

  • @ForksAndSpoons100 lol XD <3

  • I'm digging this song.

  • thanks JT for turning me on to this band

    that is all i need

another fucking band to get stuck in my head

    anyway.

  • lets pretend we are in antartica!!!!!!!

  • your right..the violance isn't violant...its happy, oh well, i like the song....

  • i love this it's so like me like me very happy then push someone to there death AT THE SAME TIME lol

  • psycho but osome video!!!XD..

  • A strangely happy view of violence... such a strange song. But I love it.

Ironically for me the lyric "Let's play Tristan and Isolde" is amusing, since my name is Tristan. xD

"Maybe I'll never die and I'll just keep growing younger" reminds me of Dorian Grey. Hmn.

Anyone else have any thoughts similar?

P.S: The ending. With the ship. Is anyone else reminded of Dr. Seuss?!

  • If I could ever choose to live my life as a song, this is near the top of my list.

I'll just keep growing younger with you...and you'll grow younger too.

  • holy shit. outback stole this beat for their commercials.

  • @elscorcho19 I guess they liked the beat, I think they either got the band to do a re-do of the song or something, or they got someone else to do a cover.

  • It's kinda crazy how it's all been done, but it keeps getting re-invented. All these bands like animal collective, grizzly bear, MGMT etc. all have deep roots in pop, disco, electronic and several other genres, but somehow make it their own. Don't get me wrong, i f'in love it cause pop in the mainstream is unoriginal fuck-garbage. Just sayin, it's good to see you can still be catchy without being played out.

  • shit

  • It's an adorable song, without a doubt.

  • this is freaking awesome

  • 100% you will zone out to this

  • where in this video is violence???

  • papapapapapapapapapapapapa WA WA WA PA PAP GA GA GA GA GAH-PAH

  • complicated tree

  • really wierd...

  • This video is trippin balls...

  • love that !!! first time I heard it in Weeds, thank God for weed(s) :D

  • This base melody is making me shiver id like it to go on and go on and go on...

  • @ImChichelle Your mum makes me shiver... :D

  • @TangyExplosives right

  • @TangyExplosives wow just go ahead and suck natalie's dick

  • maybe I'll never die I'll just keep growing younger with you. and you'll grow younger too. now it seems too lovely to be true... but i know..the best things always do

  • I keep thinking "Let's go back outback tonight, life will still be here tomorrow!!"

  • @SuperCriticguy OH MY GOD ME TOO!

  • This reminds me of Happy Tree Friends...

  • why the fuck is everything being beheaded man its like freaking me the fuck out

  • keep trippin, i loved this video. and song. (yeah i know, but whatever)

  • Dude, wasn't this in some commercial? Cause I've DEFINITELY heard "Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica" before

  • @viiiccckkkiiii i think your thinking of the outback commercial lol

  • @viiiccckkkiiii and i thought that too

  • i hate the fact that i like this song/video, gonna jump off building

  • lets have bizzarre celebrations!!

  • @lakai958 lets not

  • They we're definitely tripping when they made this.

  • @AsTheyDie I'm one of the people who directed/animated this video. We were not "tripping" when we made this. I always kind of chuckle when I see this kind of comment, but it's a bummer that people clump imagination with drug use.

  • @craigily This video is unbelievable i love it!!!! I'm an indie artist located in honolulu,hi releasing an album this summer, would it be possible to direct a video for me??If so how do i contact?ust watched this vid 6 times in a row awesome and inspiring work!!!!!

  • i love the planets' faces

  • drugs...... this shows.... well you get it

  • this song is so ironic.. damn hipsters

  • humi like older men! Dont ask meh why i am telling you this

  • been stuck in my head all day!

ive had a good day :D
