Well, there's alot that could have happened...as a Flyers fan, I'll admit that they had no business winning this series, and I pick Montreal to win in 5/6 games before the series started...however, the playoffs are much different than the regular season, and the Flyers are a team built for the postseason.
But really, the Habs lost this series because they refused to crash the net and make Biron work harder...plus, Philly was able to exploit Price's weak glove and overall collapse in net.
yeah, i think the overall outcome of this series was more due to the difference in the goalie's performance levels at the time. Biron had some of his best games, while it seemed anything high glove side on price would go in; hence umberger having such a good postseason even though he did not to a tremendous amount to rack up so many points. good series though, playoffs this year should be interesting(hopefully the pens dont make it =P)
all i am saying is yes umberger was a good player, and i liked him, but at that point, it was really the best time for the flyers to get rid of his, because they knew how he would be each year, he was decently consistent for the same amount of points, but after that series his stats seemed a bit inflated due to price not being very good, so he got a lot of those points where against another goalie he may not have. just saying it was the best time to trade him, so they could get something good
The Kostopolous hit was cheap, but man it's gonna suck having to put with these Versus announcers during the Eastern Conference Finals for every game. I don't know why they can't let the teams' local announcers do it...or at least put hockey back on ESPN. Seriously, the NHL wonders why people think hockey sucks to watch on Versus and NBC. PUT IT BACK ON ESPN!! Gary Thorne and Bill Clement are the ones that should be announcing the ECFs and WCFs.

Maybe, but this series was kinda sad. The only game the flyers played well, they lost. habs should've won in 5, losing game 1.

What are you talking about... Umgerger didn't do a tremendous amount? The dude was a total workhorse in this series.
This series was the reason Flyers fans were a bit upset at losing him as a cap casualty... though at least the draft pick turned into Sbisa.
