  • Wow. Equivocation of morally v. legally right and wrong in the first 30 seconds. That's got to be a record.

For laws, we (ideally) work out what behaviors infringe on others' rights, outlaw those, and let people go about their business. That's not morality; that's enforced unobtrusiveness. I don't want your stupid theology in that any more than you want my suggestion that it be made illegal to make claims you can't back up with evidence.

  • You don't want a theocracy. You just want your interpretation of Biblical laws to be enforced by our government. Got it.

  • Either this guy is an idiot or a lair. Or both. How many times have I been told by people just like him that because I have no religion I have no morals? Now, because it's convenient, he's splitting hairs.

The morality this goofball espouses is fed by his religion, and he is demanding that we pass laws that make other people adhere to them even if they have differing moralities.

So Christians doing it are okay but Muslims trying it re somehow evil? How much more hypocritical can you get?

  • What an idiot. Or a damned liar. "We're not talking about a theocracy"! Like legislating his morality is in any way different.

  • There's not a face or a palm large enough to express a proper facepalm fail on this video. "Christians don't want a theocracy. We just want everyone to follow our holy book's laws whether they believe in that book or not."

  • Legislating laws based on your religion is a form of legislating your religion. You may not be telling people to believe in your god but you are telling them what to do in accordance to your religion. Nice try hypocrite.

  • So conservative right wing Christians trying to "legislate morality" is fine, but conservative Muslims who would advocate Sharia law are depraved and evil -- is that right, Reverend?

  • Six of one, half dozen of the other, Reverend.

  • Adherence to religion is a mental illness.

  • like a muslim in political office isn't practicing theocracy - it is a very fine line - i think religion in politics is incorrect - i think religion in the personal life of a politician is important - keywords personal life - we sheeple get confused on that issue
