  • Sick.

  • Seriously, i find this as a waste of time on youtube... This video should be taken off, its retarded

  • Comment removed

  • You don't have to have a V8 to make low end torque, take a look at most modern engines you fool..

  • I like V8 also. but the way i see it is a 4 cylinder tuned with E85 running high boost and aggressive timing should be just as good as a V8 on 91 pump gas. with the price fuel going up i will try to stick with my little 4 cylinder. but since i use ethanol i am sometimes well into the red line before i shift and not at 4000rpm.

  • devil's fuel diesel if you like tq example bmw 4 banger 380tq – 1.900-2.750 rpm 184bhp

  • gas mileage suckssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss tho

  • Turbos are for cheaters to easy to get so much power 95mm turbo 2.0, 4 banger 1400 horsepower.

  • At 3000rpm, my 2004 wrx STi is making about 150awhp. At 4000rpm, it's making a little under 260awhp (peak is 310awhp). At 3000rpm, my car is making 250awtq, and it makes it's peak torque at 3700rpm, 340awtq. If I were to get bigger injectors, and e85, it would make the power earlier and hold longer, and make about 50 more horsepower and 60-70 more lb feet of torque. God I love boost.

  • do this with a european tsi engine same speed but a big smile at the gas station.

  • One word... IMPREZA 300lb/tq STOCK... FOUR CYLINDERS BRO

  • @TheSchmiders

Yeah, cool, a turbocharged four cylinder from 2012 has the same power as 1980's era V8.

Why don't you compare your car to a horse carriage from the late 1800s? Keep it relevant, 'bro'.

  • @luminaeus try 2004... and a tiny stock turbo... and it has to spin all four tires... Pretty relevant. Im comparing ENGINES, they havent changed much from 80's to 00's.

  • @TheSchmiders

Engines haven't changed much since the 80s?

A 5.0 Mustang from the 80s had 157 hp. A turbo Subaru from the 80s had 95hp. Wheee....

300hp from a K04 is pretty good for 2004. But what happens if I buy the K04 kit for my 2011 GTI? 360hp, 380tq. Why so much more power? Direct injection. What a difference new technology makes...

  • @luminaeus im just saying... not all 4 cylinders are all high end... and even if some are. The sound of a Growling boxer engine is worth it.

  • @luminaeus Cars were making underrated 370hp-500hp and even higher torque numbers in the 60's-early 70's using carburetors. Fuel injection really only helps efficiency, hence why a 6.2L in 1969 could make 425 hp but get 13 mpg at best and a 6.2L today can make 425 hp but also get 24 mpg. The reason cars shitted out in the later 70's and 80's was because of the smog regulations, gas prices, insurance costs, etc. So basically, the key to power isn't fuel/air delivery, it's compression.

  • @tpops123 Some were underrated and some were overrated... SAE/DIN. Cars today can do more with less because of better rubber and more efficient drivetrains and aerodynamics

  • Ok.... My Inline 5 makes 300 ft/lbs of torque at 1950 rpms...

  • @USGiorgi

    Stock...

  • You have a 4.6? This is weak...

  • so i dont get it, why is this why you love v8's? because my 2.2 vtec 5th gen prelude accelerates faster than that, even if im doing 4000 rpm shifts which is still 1600 rpm away from vtec even kicking in, so please, tell me, what about this video makes you love v8's? lol

  • @MrFatman212 Lol@vtec

  • @Axiarus i dont see why you're loling at vtec considering they're really not that slow, i'd love to see a mustang owner lol at a nsx...

  • @MrFatman212 you sir, are a troll and are kindly being asked to leave. thank you

  • @MrFatman212

    1. Your prelude isn't faster.

    2. Your prelude sounds like shit.

    3. Low end torque means you don't have to drop to 2nd gear to pass on the highway.

  • @luminaeus if my car "isnt faster" why is it than i can accelerate quicker and reach higher speeds and yes i realize this was only 4k rpm shifts, i still accelerate quicker doing 4k rpm shifts and thats still 1.6k away from vtec engaging even, exhaust still needs work but the sound is all preference anyways, and i can still pass without dropping gears as well, so like i said, why does this video show why he loves v8 when cars with half the engine are faster?

  • @MrFatman212

Because you are only comparing your car to full size trucks, moron! The FACT is even slow 2 valve Mustang GTs are faster than Preludes. Anybody who thinks stock Preludes are fast must either be a ricer or never seen a fast car in their lives. Which one are you?

  • @01Z06guy i am NOT a ricer, a "ricer" is someone who does body kits and such like that, rice= race inspired cosmetic enhancements, i know for a fact that my car isn't the fastest, i've been in fast cars, such as a sti, 3000gt, gtr, stuff like that where it will do 0-60 in under 4 seconds, im just stating that if you were to compare say a mustang gt even of the same year (98) my car is still faster whether you like it or not, just saying

  • @MrFatman212 "a mustang gt even of the same year (98) my car is still faster"

WRONG. A '98 Prelude is a 15 second car. A '98 Mustang GT is a 14 second car. Thats really a huge difference. Your car is MUCH slower than a mustang GT of the same year. Get a clue moron, your car is slow.

  • n wats the point...

  • Is funny how v8 lovers compare their muscle with 4 cylinder import. No shit it has more hp. It has 4 more cylinders n like 4.2 litters more.you guys should be giving props that they could get that amout of HP n speed of a 4 cylinder that does 32mpg.

  • And then?

  • 200 honda owners were pissed off they couldn't accelerate that fast before 4000rpm's.

  • @ShawnSubaru No, 200 Chevy owners are wondering why this guy thinks it's fast.

  • lol. I don't even know what to say.

  • You Americans think your shit hot driving a car with a manual gearbox! haha

  • @Ollie930 douche, we actually dont, i bet you do to in your fag box car

  • @64oldsf85man nah you all do, posting videos on youtube because your all so cool. Yes i might have "fag box car", but I don't go posting videos on Youtube showing how well I can change gear.

  • You can get that kinda "performance" from a fucking yugo. If you gonna show off your "mighty" v8, at least get a good one

  • Where was i supposed to be impressed? Must have blinked at that moment, sorry...

  • how do you know when you need to shift gear? o_O

  • awesome, those torqy v-8s are crazy.

  • pretty gay! this is why like my stupid slow mustang so i can shift early. gay

  • Usdm sucks 8=======D

  • Lol, that's where the powerband is on my little two liter turbo :D

  • I beat them every time, might I add, in a prelude, from a stop, w front wheel drive... lol every-time... all the way up to the new 2012 5.0's if we r on the highway from a 80 roll... somtimes i use my lil 35 shot hit to put it in thier face, tht i can hit 155 before they hit 130.. then im sure they all realize they just wasted almost 40 grand...

  • @VtecdippinBB6siR

It's not that you win the race, it's that they're not racing. They're just driving normally, laughing at your stupid fart cannon ricer as it desperately tries to accelerate.

  • @luminaeus you couldnt of said it better

  • @VtecdippinBB6siR

2 vale Mustangs are slow. But they're still faster than your pathetic pile of shit. Grow up ricer.

  • @VtecdippinBB6siR i can completely agree, a couple of my friends drive f150s with 4.6l's, one of them tops out at 160 because he has larger tires which slow it down slightly and the other tops out at 170, while i just left 3rg gear at 150 lmao fastest i've had it was 250, so why people think these 4.6's and 5.0 are the shit is beyond me, they should give mad props to a 2.2l bb6 lude going 80-90 km/h faster than their trucks with more than double the engine

  • @MrFatman212

You have to compare to a full size truck to feel fast? You make me laugh!

  • um ..yea, my lude pulls exacly like tht..4 banger, 4000 rpm at 70, in 5th, and everything.. thts a 2 valve v8.. theres no power there lol. 2 valve, v8, 4600cc gt, modular motor or (4.6L) as u like to call it prolly, is the same thing as a 4 valve, 2200cc, w vtec :) and it only uses half the gas when its not needed as well... those cars do not have 280 horse bc my car only has 220... and i beat stock gt's everytime. Dont need a v8 when u have vtec all the way to 8500 rpm :)

  • @VtecdippinBB6siR

Your "'lude" is a 15 second car. Its slow as fuck. Only a ricer thinks that's fast.

  • I love going on videos like this and looking at all the derpy comments from people that don't actually get what ricer means. Pro-tip: Ricer does not mean Asian car.

I like V8s, I'm just not a fan of most of the chassis they're in. Too big and too heavy. Plus I don't get why Aussie/Yank V8s have such a tendency to stay N/A and just smash large amounts of litres through the engine. Why not go smaller with forced induction?

Still, I'd own an Ariel Atom 500 in a heartbeat. And probably die in it.

  • @TheBrutalLordLoki What about the Z06's 427 or as you may know it 7.0 it gets 26 mpg on the highway or the camaro's 6.2 that gets 23 highway mpg.

  • @TheBrutalLordLoki

I didn't say it meant asian cars, dipshit. I called that ricer a ricer because he IS a ricer. I have a whole video explaining what a ricer is. Its a person who thinks a certain way. Smaller displacement with FI often means more weight, more cost, worse reliability, and worse fuel mileage than modern, light weight, large displacement, N/A engines. It's why LS-x engines are swapped into everything. They are better overall than smaller FI engines.

  • @VtecdippinBB6siR BUMP ^^^^^^

  • the bmw 2.0 turbo creates 258 lb/ft at 1250 rpm. that's a 4 cylinder. boom roasted

  • @liej010 Thats a F/I car so can't really compare to N/A

  • @BlackDeath2626

why not? why does it matter how the motor makes its torque? the point is you don't need a V8 to get big torque down low and in fact a smaller turbo motor can make more torque while being more efficient throughout the entire rpm range.

you're basically saying 'thats a forest green, so you can't really compare to a neon green." they're both green.

They're both motors, and they both make torque. different ways to be sure, but the end product is the same.

  • @liej010 not to mention their 3.0 i6 that makes 332 ft/lbs at 1500rpm

  • @liej010 Lmfao yeah after about 10 pulls ur shit will overheat and go into shutdown mode. I;ve seen the tt 335i do it against a G37 on motortrend's channel.

  • what kind of car is this?

  • @RichardMike93 guess it's a crown vic public one at that. cop ones have 140mph on the SPEDOMETER (for those who just call it the DASH)

  • Ill admit, i like V8's. They sound awesome. But, i also like the sound of a 4 banger revving up hard. I like all types of cars, and all types of engines. I wanna hear this thing redline.

  • this aint no v8 the dash only goes to 120 LIAR

  • @yungzicky i hope your joking.

  • @yungzicky

    The speedometer in a Chevy 3500HD only goes to 120. I guess that 6.0 liter V8 isn't a V8?

  • @luminaeus oh yeah i thought i t a mustangs i was looking at mustangs

  • torque over high end horsepower... hmm.. believe it was once said that horsepower is the art of going fast, torque is the art of "feeling" like you are going fast. just sayin.

  • My dodge's lugnuts take more torque than your stang puts out. Lol, Actually it is a good grunt vid, everyone who knows cars knows torque makes the muscle, horsepower is just bragging numbers. Thats why I drive a 325hp Dodge diesel with 610 ft lbs torque. (it is semi stock) and will eat most cars half its weight off the line if i got turbo pushin 6-8psi of boost before i give her the go-go

  • @xmodrock fine, but you shouldnt be doing that to your car. plus i drive a 4 banger, turbo awd. it goes pretty quick, peak torque is 3700rpm...

  • @jecht86 Yeah. I believe he's more wrong. There are plenty of "4 bangers" that make torque at low RPM, including honda motors. I know my bolt-on k20 makes torque around where yours does. A good tune can is the answer. But there are k24's which are known for their low end torque, and the older honda non vtec motors. The cobalt is an i4 motor. The foxbody came in a 4 cylinder also. Never saw their dyno graphs, but i'm sure it can make low end torque too

  • erm. a 4 cylinder can do the same thing... not impressed :(

  • @jecht86 a 4-banger canot pull that hard at low RPMs.. your wrong.. shows you never drove a 4-banger before.. they only make good power in high RPMs

  • @jecht86 hondas sohc non v tec hit torque at 4k and thats auto like what your driving there lmao

  • i love how i love how nobody realizes what this guy is trying to show you and i guarantee most of the people who comment dont even own a car

  • @daniel0771 You're absolutely right, I mean some people are saying a 4cyl can do that.... hahahahaha! Not without an expensive list of upgrade at least

  • And this demonstration will be the reason why you'll always lose a race. Granny shifting not double clutching like you should, LOL.

  • @leaveatrail9256 lmao chill dominic

  • i like a diesel for the same reason.. i'm not always gonna be rolling around flooring the gas.. most of my driving is between 1-4K RPMs... so i like my V8s and diesels better

  • u should see how a integra type r pulls in 5th at 40 kmh

  • @musicmademeaddict11 What? slow as balls? yeah we all know that already

  • where's vtec?

  • Hp matters, torque only helps you make more hp at a given rpm.

  • i dont get it? i drive a camaro and i love my car,but im not sure what you were trying to demonstrate in this video...? nothing about that was particularly fast...?

  • whats the point dude???

  • i bet most poeple that fight about cars on the internet, dont even know how an engine works. good vid man, its all about the cubes

  • lol the amount of fuel he just used in this video would be me using my TDI for the day...

  • @Andre609 cute.

  • @Andre609 agreed

  • wat u driven

  • @shanelumsdon11112 mustang gt.

  • cromo

  • haaa, im cletus and I need to wipe my ass.

  • I own an STI, but many of you people don't know how much fun it is to drive a car with a wide power band. They may not be fast sometimes, but having power any time you put your foot down makes it really fun to drive.

  • Poor driving...

  • @IRONRAVERS It isn't supposed to be an all out driving to redline video. I am shifting at 4000 rpm on purpose. If you want to see some real driving look at my other videos.

  • @IRONRAVERS your retarded

  • @IRONRAVERS

The hell are you talking about? The point of this video is to show how easily a good torque number can get the car going. This isn't some stupid tuner shit where you have to rev the hell out of the car.

  • WOW MAN FASTEST CAR SOUTH OF THE MISSISSIPPI! In 1837.

  • This dude is a red neck

  • @Jordanspiegel That is so much farther from the truth. I hate many outdoor activities. I live in a very nice neighborhood and I don't chew tobacco.

  • @nevermissclancom Yes but do you believe in evolution? Thats what makes you fucking retarded

  • @Jordanspiegel do what? What makes me retarded? You make absolutely no sense.

  • @Jordanspiegel Why? Because he has a southern accent? You are an idiot...

  • @PFCTurner311 Don't mind him. I looked at his latest comments and every single one of them is condescending towards who he talking to. Literally all he does is look at videos and post shit on them.

  • @Jordanspiegel wish i could thumbs up twice

  • 4000rpm? dick..

  • ur car is shit

  • @sweettspuffs Lol, your car is so much better. Oh wait, you don't have a car. Faggot.

  • what's the point of saying his car is slow or my car is better/faster. WHO CARES. We all like different things 4 bangers, v6's or v8's. But we all like cars. So stop hatin.

  • i can still tow you away with my 5.4 ;)

  • my v6 ranger climbs faster

  • lol im a v8 guy 100% please take this vid down my gf 4cyl sti woud smoke that thing

  • Slow piece of shit.

  • tragedia co za dziecko za kierownica

  • Not much to really go after 4,000 RPM in a V8...

  • carol shelby put it best "horsepower sells cars, torque wins races"

  • Comment removed

  • yeah V8 engines are awesome, my ford racing 427 does 535HP at only 5600rpm and 590tq at 4400 its an awesome engine mounted in an awesome mustang 68 coupe

  • My stock speed6 has 274hp and 290ft-lbs of torque and is lighter. Max torque by 4700 rpm. God I love a snall turbo mounted to a big 4 banger haha

  • @psychoticcivic Thats at the crank. At the crank my old GT was making 312hp 377tq

  • @nevermissclancom and yet the mazda will rape the gt around a proper track.

  • @psychoticcivic yeah but thats out of that v8, i love my all motor 383 stroker 480 hp at 6200 rpm and 453 ftl lbs of torque at 3800 rpm :)

  • I'll take a V8 any day :)

  • low end torque, something a ricer will never understand

  • @Chris02LS1ss damn right, they are just jealous.

  • is this a fuckstang or just another hillbilly's stupid toy?

  • want torque? get a diesel not a POS v8

  • @12v5spd just to make sure u don't sound like a dumbass again in the future ur talking about the type gas vehicles use according to a high powered engine or a low powered engine u need to use different types of gas and plus most vehicles that use diesel fuel are V8 s just with a little bit more power and more torque

  • my lawnmower has more torque than that piece of rat shit

  • I own a mustang, sniper chipped, pipe, flowmasters, with other bolt on's. It runs great! but burn gas like a motha focka!!! but thats my fun car,so fuck you and have a great day :)

  • and thats why BMW's I-6 FI engines are so fun to drive daily. Not alot of high end power, but 300ftlbs at 1800rpm is fun~!

  • @cstritz the difference between an i6 and a v6 is that ones a v the others in a line lol. I've seen soooo many i6 come out with the same #'s as a v6 does. There really isn't much of a difference between the two lol.

  • @theironman117 while that's true on average inlines create torque easier and v's create more power, that's how my teachers explained it. i's are more balanced v's are compact. you can rev an i out farther also

  • selfish v8 lover, burning all the gas for not good reason.

  • @mrbigtian and your breathing alot of air that the rest of us could use, but we are not complaining.

  • @laptoph4x air has no limit, gas has.

  • ill be honest with ya here the video is kinda wierd not bad just wierd but i understand what your saying here as my saying goes "TORQUE: Its what American was built on and is still building on today"

  • @BigGee84 you drive a civic dont you :/ Peak accelleration does not always occur at peak hp. I occurs when the highest specific force it being applied to the wheels. Ie, when peak torque is closest to peak power, somewhere in that medium in between is where the maxium force is applied to the wheels. Ask your tuner to explain further with a dyno. For example my 4L turbo inline 6 pulls more gforce at 4.5k rpm than it does a 6(peak power) because it has 1000nm torque

  • @FormulaVeeRacer1200

I'll be more specific: At a given speed, peak acceleration ALWAYS occurs at peak power. Using your example, the wheel torque available at 4.5k in, say, 3rd gear, is less than the wheel torque available at the the *same speed* in 2nd. Flooring the throttle in the latter case results in greater acceleration than the former.

The guy in the video doesn't seem to realise what happens to his wheel torque every time he shifts early.

  • @BigGee84 Same gear.. What I am saying is In say 2nd gear. My car makes peak torque at around 3.5-4k rpm then max power from 5.5- 6k it pulls hardest at around 4.5 before the torque drops off. varies from engine to engine. In smaller engines with less torque the concentration of acceleration is much closer to the peak power output. whereas my car being larger and completely different bore/stroke/rod ratio and turbocharged is much further towards the end of the torque band than yours.

  • Torque isn't just for towing. In many every day situations, you don't really want to downshift and rev up your engine to redline. Simply just put your foot down and let the torque of the engine do the work.

He's not trying to make 0 - 60 times here, he's just representing what a torque from the engine can do.

  • @Anoush13 torque do the work. lol physics joke

  • Hold down your trip button , while holding it turn key to on position then wait for the fun, start car

  • @BigGee84 1. Torque is one of the many factors of acceleration 2. Shifting at 4000rpm so that I am not relying on the peak HP to accelerate and am accurately displaying how low end tq can help you accelerate without the need of running the car to redline.

    3. While this can often be said to be true this particular car had 3.73 gears installed.

  • Yeah I know, American V8s don't like to rev. You can say that from the way they scream until you shift to the next gear.

  • oh yeah!

  • and thats why i love my 4cyclinder diesel 360 nm tork at 2500 rpm ;) 160 hp

  • @kevinp496691 a v8 has a much lower decibel rating than a v6. A v6 will be louder straight piped because it has a higher decibel rating but a v8 straight piped sounds deeper and louder because all the work going thru the cylinders is coming out as a big ass smoke cloud causing a deeper noise. Depending on the size of the pipes a 4 inch pipe will be louder because it has more space to go thru. A 3 inch pipe will be deeper because it takes more back pressure to get it out. Just to let u know a v8

  • @theironman117 He wasn't talking about a v6. He said an i6. Big big big difference.

  • bi-turbo a nice big 3.2 straight six.... good power good torque and it sounds better then the lazy V8's.

  • 460 ford 10:1 compression 610Ft/Lbs at 2500 475HP at 4500 i'd like to see a fuckin v-tec pull that kind of numbers with only an aluminum intake and a small cam

  • Let's put it this way. A 2001 Honda civic regular generates 110 ft/lbs of torque. Times that by .85 and you get the average torque at the wheels. That's 93.5. An average v8's lug nuts require 100-135 ft/lbs of torque so they won't fall off. So to put it in retrospect, yes, a v8's lug nuts require more torque than a regular I4 Honda civic can generate.

  • @Dreamevil2009 your gas mileage in that awd turbo 4 cylinder is like 20mph because its awd. 4 and 6 cylinders are for people who want to get the most out of their gas. 8 cylinders are for people who want to show off their engine and sound. Most v8 owners could care less about horsepower. Its a fuckin v8.... ANY v8 is going to sound nice and be fast, high 14's on the 1/4 is hella fast.... most v6 and I4 cars can't even make it to low 16's. you have to trick out a 4 cylinder to make it fast.

  • @theironman117 agrreed i cant stand the people at my college that have brand new or new ish I4 that are turbo and thing there bad ass..well if i turbod my v6 it would have more hp and tq at the same psi then there little 4 banger and it pisses me off that there that ingornant.....i have a v6 mustang with just gears and it runs a very low 15 in the 1/2 mile and some guys brandddd new kia (2.4 turbo) runs just a little bit fast then me and hes f/i......sad sad sad

  • @SStarwind your 2.5 liter can do it faster because its lighter.... But can it make past 100mph? It would take a serious amount of torque and horsepower for a 2.5 liter to make it past 100mph.... and even then it would take like 20 seconds to even get to 100mph lol. 4, 5, and 6 cylinders are good for making 0-60 but when it comes to 0-100 or 0-100-0 or even the 1/4.... Forget it.

  • @nitrousboy0311 dude, my lug nuts require more torque than your honda can generate....

  • What is this thing you guys call "Torque"? My 95 honda does not have it.

  • Jesus people. I knew this video would spawn arguments. And bring out all the immature people. I know a Turbo 4 can have more torque. There is still a bit of lag though. All this video was meant to do was show how instantaneous the tq is on a low powered V8. Yes a low powered V8. I know this isn't the fastest car in the world. hell it was only a mid 13 second car.

  • @nevermissclancom in the description, you talking ft-lbs or nm?

  • @nevermissclancom 13s is fast for a daily driver.. what kinda car is this? theres not many cars under 280bhp that can do the qaurter in 13s...

  • @SpeedDemons420 It is just an 01 Mustang GT. Granted 280bhp is only around 240whp. This car makes 268whp which is closer to 310bhp.

  • @SpeedDemons420 i consider 14s fast considering my car cost me 1000 bucks and barely makes 170 hp while maintaining a weight of 3500 lbs wet and can easily do 13s with an engine upgrade

  • @uploaded113redone what kinda car do you have? and do u mean 170whp? what car weighs 3500 ibs and has that low of power? I dont see a 170bhp car running 14s thats LT1 territory even 2600 ibs Integra GSRs with 170bhp run 15s

  • My 2.5 liter can do that, and do it faster....

    Quite a bit faster, actually.

Seriously, you don't need a V8 for mad torque.

  • my 355 chev makes 455hp peak at 5700 and 427tq.peak at 4800 videos of it on here sooo fun to drive

  • Yeah my 2.5L is 350 hp and 385 tq and thats why i dont love v-8's
