@edwardoalvarez22 Well, Contrary to popular beleif, We're not all hillbillies or rednecks down here. Infact none of us are. Except maybe in reeeaaaly low parts of Louisiana. To answer your question, We pretty much build our houses the same way you do. Baton Rouge isn't exactly a low lying area, so we dont worry about flooding. I've never had a tree fall on my house before, and i've lived here all my life. As for the procedures we follow, the air conditioning usially goes out. we use generators.
