please somebody tell me how or where i can download ALL OF veve's incredible music.....I am begging......this music is too good not to get my hands on.
This reminds me of those old good days when I was going to Rwambaizi Primary school. I used listen these lingalas from Radio Rwanda Kigali enzi za Kabendera Shinani na Serushago Nestory. That was the only strongest radio in that area across the borders. I could sing the whole song. Old is gold!
To respond to Kagonye below ,actually the song is titled Mwana mawa by The grand pisa ,the group that also sung mandalala. It goes like this ...the chorus goes like this.....yeh zairiois ye...siana nini toka bwana,...toka bwana.Have been searching for it too hopefully somebody will post one of these fine days......
Listen to the lead guitar rolling at about 04:05 [this is likely Dino Vangu of Bella fame or Ricos of Lipua fame, then listen to TPOK 's Boureau des Coeurs by Dennis Bonyeme at about 09:15 on! See where [Thierry] TPOK got that from! I remember this Kalala with joy ,because, as a boy, my dad used it to teach me not all slow music is rhumba! He said, this VEve beat is slow and groovy, but it aint rhumba ala TPOK! listen to the diction! Didn't know what the hell diction was!
Bughativeyon it seemsyou have an archive. kindly i have been looking for the album that franco and tabuley played at festac 77 in lagos that featured adeito. also if you can lay your hand on BSK bolero and BBB bolero please kindly post them
Bughativeyron do you have the song that went by this chorus...sukalisusu mugalimoko ooo ayi ...as the chorus. It came out sometime in the 70s but all i remember is the chorus...was too young but it still rings in my mind. It maybe on youtube but i do not know its title.
Kalala! 1977 it was the last supper for the senior four students after the O level exams in Gulu High School (Northern Uganda). The Karumba Jazz Band of Acholi Inn was hired and they graced the occasion. Ojara (RIP) played the lead guiter and beautifully sang KALALA. Yes we filled the floor of that dining hall. Just being nostalgic. Those good old days.
Actually this record came as a single back in 1976; later on was put on the albums. I have it as a single record in my possession and on two albums and a CD, below is the details of what on that record >
It is a very melodic music albulm which I have loved since I was a young man, it is indeed a gret achievement for Orchestra Veve, it so nice and I have kept it and save it in my face book!! Mazabe19
bughativeyron: The fact that you posted Kalala is a sign that you are somebody of good taste and touch. I have been looking for this literarily day in day out for years!!! Abundant cheers!!!
Thanks for posting one of the most beautiful songs ever written in Lingala. This was like a national anthem. I wonder why Orch Veve did not continue with their music!

Good songs were on the top during General Amins rule in Uganda.Datsun 1600,240z and 504 Peugeots were the rule of the thumb
.
You listen to music now and you feel sorry for the audience.
