Graphic novel always better. Simply because of the timing it took, but with that said this was the most enjoyable retelling of all of Alan Moore's works made into movies. With probably V for Vendetta being at par in the movie and novel modes. Zack Synder, you may have not totally captured the book, but given that it probably was never meant to be unleashed in cinema and the amount of story with atmosphere you did put in the movie, I give him an A for effort.
As cool as Rorschach and all the characters in the book are, I think the comedian interests me the most. I don't find Rorschach as complex as people make him out to be, but i could be missing something.

Watchmen is probably one of the best, deepest, and most brilliant movies i've ever seen. It's definitely my favorite movie.
it was interesting, the watchmen were sort of a parody of politicians in the government, they want to help there fellow citizens, but at the same time they all have different ideas of morality and whats good and how to obtain it so they end up not being able to get anything done, they are as morally lost and corrupt as the people there protecting.

its funny, having never seen the actor that played rorschach play in any other movie when i heard his voice i literally said," Wha? Huh? That's Rorschach?" Both guys seem to know a bit about the history which I think helps make a good movie. Haley really seems to know what he is talking about and in my opinion he completely stole the show as Rorschach.
this movie reminds me of dark knight in the sense that the 'other' character steals the show. Of course Batman and Nightowl are more the "main" characters and have more screen time,but in the back of your mind you're definitely wondering 'where the hell is rorschach' or 'christ Joker is takin' a long time to come back on' And it kind of helps that those two actors were completely immersed in their role, their voices, their mannerisms all of them is in character until thats all you see. Love it!

Both Rorschach and Joker were the stand out's in either movie and completely outshone the "main" characters. And it's not that the performances of the main guys were bad, these guys were just on a totally different level.
The actions and voices both actors used in those parts were excellent. Both outstanding performances and Haley had the perfect voice for narrating the movie from his journal.
So i don't understand how that the other characters in this film weren't true to thier own values while Rorschach was and kept his "hero" code to end? Of course i dont. ;)

If were to be a hero of some sort, it would be Rorschach. Yes, I agree with most of his morals. Cold and grim, because that's the way he grew up and that's the way the world treats him.

its funny, having never seen the actor that played rorschach play in any other movie when i heard his voice i literally said," Wha? Huh? That's Rorschach?" I keep looking at his face and wondering where his voice comes from. I wondered if the directors knew that he could talk like that or if they expected him to talk in his normal voice. Hmmmm...

Both guys seem to know a bit about the history which I think helps make a good movie. Haley really seems to know what he is talking about and in my opinion he completely stole the show as Rorschach.
Sucked that he died.

this movie reminds me of dark knight in the sense that the 'other' character steals the show. Of course Batman and Nightowl are more the "main" characters and have more screen time,but in the back of your mind you're definitely wondering 'where the hell is rorschach' or 'christ Joker is takin' a long time to come back on' And it kind of helps that those two actors were completely immersed in their role, their voices, their mannerisms all of them is in character until thats all you see. Love it!

Completely agree, very well put and a great comparison.
Both Rorschach and Joker were the stand out's in either movie and completely outshone the "main" characters. And it's not that the performances of the main guys were bad, these guys were just on a totally different level.
The actions and voices both actors used in those parts were excellent. Both outstanding performances and Haley had the perfect voice for narrating the movie from his journal.

Sure, you don't like anarchists, no problem. I'm slowly getting disillusioned with anarchism nowadays, due to it's constant attacks on freedom of speech and modern ideas such as democracy and rights to privacy. Not to mention, their support of a elitist society, in which the strong will climb over the weaker ones.
However, just because I enjoyed the comic book and the movie, doesn't warrant the allegation that I'm an anarchist.
