I have one of these with Martha & The Vandellas doing dancin' in the street or heatwave ( I forget, It's packed down deep in the record room). I remeber getting a Jackson 5 song on the back of something like super sugar crisp cereal. Has to make ya smile, to think about now, huh. Does anyone know of anyone producing records like this - on paper? or the ones that used to come in National Geographic? I'm a musician doing 60s music and we wanna put out an EP like this or maybe like a hip pocket.
Yes it is. The picture is printed on normal card with a plastic film/skin on the surface. It is this film that has the actual recording pressed into it like a normal record. The actual recording depth is very small with all records and the bulk of a 45 or 33 is for handling and ease of pressing.
Nice to know there are so many collectors of vintage recordings and pl;ayers. This was one of five cards sent in the early 60's found at the local rubbish tip. Rescued! J.
I have five of these 'skin' records. It says on the card back that it will play at least 500 times. I have no doubt of that. I've played it many times and its track still has a nice sheen. Great fun. John.
COOL
