@ yognat2001: Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavatar do have a doctorate. He was the first musician to be awarded a doctorate in India when the Kerala University awarded him the D. Litt. for his Tamil treatise in 1943. It was not a slip of the tongue. Thanks!

first time i am hearing that Muthaiyya Bhagavathar had a doctorate!!
