I know it is mixing sports and politics but that is how it is..People from another nationalities will understand this only when they suffer(god forbid that does not happen to anyone what happened to our people in Mumbai.. but this a fact
I@blackbullIPL owners would like to have such players.but the situation is more political than related to sports.I am an Indian(from Mumbai to be noted) and I support for not having players from any country till that country does not help us and support us in keeping our people safe and terrorism free.
Big Bash and English Counties both attach a lot of importance to Pakistani players... Pakistani players (like Afridi, Razzaq, Gul, etc..) have a lot of entertainment value ... it is still not clear to me why IPL does not hire them...
@aniketranade that is completely unfair to swear at all the pakistani team or use other words when there r many of our pakistani citizens and players who respect indians and indian cricket team.
@hijabi2010 Good. The World respects us because we command respect. You should seriously look within yourself and ask this question. If a player from ANY other country chewed the ball on camera, tampered the pitch (he was caught there too) and then made a communal remark against a whole country, it would be a career suicide for him...and he would be facing a life ban.
In Pakistan, that guy is and a National Hero. Sad...but true.
@aniketranade u missed my point man i meant there was no need for rascist comments and i dont respect indians coz u command respect i respect everyone as it is everyones human right. i mean ur using the word paki and retard. anyway i understand there is n point arguing wid u. peace.
@hijabi2010 Well..I didnt mean Paki to be derogatory...but do u really think Afridi doesnt qualify as a retard??
He jokes about tampering the ball on National TV for gods sake!!
Its almost as if there NO sense of accountability for him! Anyway..u sound sensible....and if i didnt mean to offend you. Its a shame that someone like Afridi represents you on the World Stage.
@aniketranade its just that i teach special needs children and the word retard just sometimes gets me riled up but i do agree that afridi isnt the brightest bulb in the box but we do have sensible players such as abdur razzaq
@hijabi2010 Absolutely!...But its surprising that when Afridi claims that Indians cannot be as generous as the muslims (Which doesnt even make any sense considering the number of Indian muslims)....or when Tanveer Sohail claims that Pakistani players were shunned out of IPL because of 'Hindu Mentality'.....noone seems to condemn it!....I can only imagine what a player in India might go through if he makes such communal statements. He will be a social outcast!
@aniketranade they r complete idiots seriously even though i am a devout muslim i dont understand y religion has to be a factor in sports especially when we have players like danish kaneria who always says im a proud pakistani hindu. and as for the pakistani media the express tribune, jang, dawn everyone bashed afridi for his dumb comments
@hijabi2010 Do you remember the time Imran was Captain?? Noone wore their religion on shoulders....noone made such comments, noone went down on knees after scoring 50 or taking 5 wickets. They played their cricket hard and honestly..and commanded respect from the world. Look at the team now...with their overt show of religion...and referring to Allah every second sentence....and they are caught doing the most despicable things!!!
@aniketranade i mean thanking Allah i get that coz i do that obviously every 3 seconds but that gives them no right to judge others' religion and i agree wid that
I dont think Imran even thanked Allah in his speech when he won the World Cup in 1992. He earned respect with his fair play and dignity. Thats why we love him to this day!
@aniketranade well that speech was controversial coz he forgot to thank his own team as well lol... anway i think there is no harm in being religious but a balance should be struck definitely coz religion is such a personal thing.
@aniketranade well that speech was controversial coz he forgot to thank his own team as well lol...i see no harm in being religious but there should be a balance definitely coz religion is such a personal thing
@hijabi2010 Nothing wrong with that at all!...But its a significant change...which started after Inzamam took over as Captain. Look at Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Mohammad Kaif and others who played for India....DO you think they are any less Muslims than Pakistani players?...Thats how your team used to be. Now Pakistani team has alienated itself by their own behavior. So noone can relate to them now.
@aniketranade completely agree thats exactly what i meant man that being religious is fine but there is no need to exploit it and always bring it to the fore front
@hijabi2010 BTW...dont you think it is pathetic that he felt like apologizing to the country for losing to India (something he shouldnt have done) but never felt like apologizing when he was caught chewing the ball or tampering the pitch (The least he could have done!)????
@aniketranade look dumb is not that offensive there are people who have been more offensive so sorry if i offended u but im just sayin that after the match he was respectful to india but he only said those rude things after gambhir comments and u didnt need to be so rude to me if u were used less of the swearing l then that would of been more positive towards indians and u would of gained more respect in pakistanis eyes
Thanks to RedBacks for giving Afridi full chance to prove his abilities...I think the reason of his failure in IPL was lack of confidecen and support by team. Thank you to RedBacks as well :)
as a cricket fan or any kind of sports fan we always like our own country team but to watch any great player play regardless of any country is a great pleasure to watch them perform on a high level is awesome.like shahid afridi. sachin etc...
This guy has given us a real chance of winning our first final in 14-15 years! Hope he comes back not only because he's one of the best player of limited overs cricket (Twenty20 or 50 overs) in the world, but because he's a pleasure to watch!!! Thank you Shahid!!!
