The cinema used in the series was the State Theatre in Grays Essex UK. A grade 11* listed building that has been allowed to decay over almost twenty years.
I adore this song so much - thank you so much for posting it. My Grandmother used to sing it to me when I was little and it is so evocative of the wonderful childhood I had.
@Foxtrotlima73 Lovely memory exchange...my grandmother used to sing Danny Boy and You are My Sunshine (we were Irish American)...at childrens day camp at mil base in USA, our female British drill sargent taught us "I've Got Sixpence" and "She's Got a Pair of Hips, jUST like two battleships" etc("My Gal's a corker, she's a New Yorker").....strange thing to learn for pre teens :)))
A brilliant finale to a brilliant series. A wonderful Ewan before he became Obi Wan. This was Dennis Potter's last production and he was able to see it. The amalgamation of the actors and the music is very well done. I feel it is better than Pennies from Heaven and nowhere near as morbid. A great piece.
Agree entirely.Loyc is outstanding for it's casting,acting etc.The production teams for Dennis Potter are my heroes.The translation of his filmscripts into "reality" is quite an achievment.For those of us who were teenagers in the fiftys and seeing his TV works such as loyc I give humble thanks.Amazing how clear & vibrant the sound tracks seem.
Love the series and soundtrack... excellent all round... bravos to all involved

If i remember correctly this was quite a "naughty" play lol..
I think it raised my parents eybrows a few times as mum commented on it quite a bit... Me well I just watched it because of the music ---
