having seen her live, what struck me the most was how ineffectively the power of her voice comes across in video compared to in person. Because of this, One Day live is 10x better than the studio version, for example.
@celestialheath seems as though her 2nd album relies more on the power of her voice, while her first on the subtlety of her songwriting. Since she's got talent in both areas, each works, though "Give Out" (oddly appearing on neither LP--is this a b-side?) probably fuses the two the best, with its non-linear, meandering flow of emotions. This would be something to hear live.
I saw her at Joe's Pub in NYC a little more than a year ago. Great talent, hauntingly amazing voice, she is growing as a confident artist and I can't wait to see her bloom into a star
I can identify with this song so much...I'm probably the shyest, most cautious person I know, and its so hard to force myself to be all open and outgoing with people other than my family.
I find hard to admit that (since I look like an mix o Viking, Troll and Orc), but her music makes me think about nothing else but crying... so beautiful, so touching.
simply great, what perfect name for an album, "epic".
i just heard this on 6 music blewww me awwayyy!
