You are a recruiter arn't you ? Isn't your MOS to convince kids to enlist ? How good are you at your MOS ?

Think before you type because in your current employment your represent the New York Army National Guard, not Josie the POUG who thinks he is clever on youtube.

why would you want to join the army during a wartime. at least air force doesnt really go to combat.

I can understand the very basic logic that why would one join a country's military when it is at war ?

With the Guard you have the glorious option after getting a taste thru basic and AIT to do your time with your unit back home or go Active Army.

You should think long and hard and not get pressured into a MOS your not sure about.

Go 11B with the 2/108 Infantry, preferably Charlie Company.

If your in NYC, 1/69 ain't bad.

Air Force combat tours were 3 months long last time I checked.

Army Guard tours are slightly less than Active Army.

The question of why one would join the military is a very big and a very personal one.

I can tell you I joined to get college paid for, health care, home loan, VA disability should something happen.

I stayed in, BIG difference between joining, because I found a home with my unit and friends with my fellow infantrymen.

No one is forcing you to join but it does have its --->
