Nissan actually released this towards the end of the 300ZX lifespan or maybe even after it was discontinued. 96? I remember thinking why are they advertising the Z now? But great commercial. I used to own a red twin turbo and my wife looked hot in the passengers seat.

although this commercial won an award, Nissan actually pulled it 4 months later because it did not help car sales. the man reason is that no one remembered that it was Nissan putting out this commercial. in fact sales dropped 2% while the industry increased 2% for a total of a 4% loss. go figure...

The 300ZX stayed in production until 2000, but was not imported to the States after 1996 making 1996 the last import year. I agree with your point, though, that Nissan should've done this commercial about 4 years earlier at least.

BTW, each member of Van Halen received a brand new 1996 non-turbo 300ZX for their music involvement.

I miss the 300ZX TT, I miss the Maxima's of old (ie. stick shifts and emphasis on sport), and I miss the 80's as much as Kimber did.
