dude its a dance... how u expect ppl to dance at that speed? unless u want them to fall... play it slower and also with more emotion... ur notes are clear enuf so juz work on ur speed and dynamics
By the way,I would like to ask guys from Western societies(US,UK,France,Germany,........etc.)....
In my country ,Taiwan, there is a saying:[You must listen Vivaldi(Especially the"For seasons".God!I hate "Four seasons".),Bach or Beethoven.Or you are of no level.....]Then most of the others are neglected(Like Martinu)
Is that situation exist there?Or it`s particular in Asia?
tell me about it!! i cnt get the 2nd n 3rd pagess arghh!! lol..i cnt even get it 2 dat speed :PP..but this piece is actually good..i like ir =]] but i need 2 get it up to that standard..espeacially 4 my exam in 2 weeks lol =]xxx
Good performance~ althought it played quite fast~ you have the music of the puppet ~ get it and control the whole feeling~ i think your have practiced a long time for the end~
The ending should be liked in this way~ very very very fast and you can do it ^^ very good
But you need to sure your note is correct and well played~ try to use a very very slow
speed to play it~ and i think you can recite this song~ so you no need to use the book @@ because when i see you turning the page~ i laugh ^^
Ive noticed your playing from the ABRSM Grade 8 stuff. Im doing the Bach as well... you play it much much much better than I!!! What piece are you doing for list B?
i'm sorry, i think i sounded a little bitchy in my other comment. it was meant to be constructive suggestion, but actually sounded quite nasty when i re read it.
don't use pedal!! (except the end) it removes the bouncy light texture and makes it droopy.
don't rush... sounds terrible if you do it like that. take it slowly then increase the speed.
especially the ending isn't all about speed, make sure all the notes are distinct, clear and evenly played. don't let the cluster and group together and it will actually sound good!
This piece was on of the AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) Grade 7 syllabus when I was taking lessons (back in 1999/2000). Whereabouts are you? So wish I could still afford to take lessons :-(
I have to agree with jymqlassheroes, there's so much more you could do with this piece, lots of markings for tempo changes and dynamics in the sheet music I have anyway, plus interpretation.
Still though, a very good performance. :-)
Will record myself playing this one when I have a minute.
hmm... i play really emotion-filled... this song... its the most expressive of my three, so I have to emphasize that. Hm.. Too rushed, harsh and... technical. I mean, its a puppets dance. but i think the song is supposed to express the puppets and the puppeteer's passion for them to look as alive as possible./
Very nice playing, although I tend to play 0.46 onwards with more emotion, slow it down a bit as well. What do you think, should this piece be super fast and emotionless, or a bit slower and with a hint of emotion?
Midi files can be quite inaccurate, especially for pieces that are for this grade. I suggest you either search for an mp3 version on the Internet or that you buy the CD ABRSM offers. Good luck.
Wow! Well done! That's amazing, speed and everything!

too fast...
you make me feel dizzy..
but you can improve in slightly slow down the tempo and don't use the pedal all the time, the tone can be more clear
keep it on!=]

I wouldn't really know. Everybody says it's the piece I play the best out of my 3 exam pieces.

reminded me of my grade 5 exam, when the page dropped off the stand while i was playing my 2nd piece but everything turned out fine in the end =)

Well... they are puppets :P
wateryzephyr 4 years ago
The song was too rush, it can be "lot" slower than that tempo that you played.
Than, you need to improve your dynamic,
You ignored too much p & f..
That will be a big problem in the test.
This piece(G8 C:2) is a dance, a waltz.
So you need to reduce the first beat, and that's quite important too.
