  • @bodiloto, tu eres fuera de repertorio¡¡¡ Envidioso, odiador, masoquista¡¡

  • Voce fuori repertorio.

  • @bodiloto hai il cervello fuori dal repertorio

  • See Vladimir Chernov perform this piece LIVE, Saturday June 4th at UCLA's Opera Gala in Royce Hall...around 200 singers from the UCLA School of Music and The Angeles Chorale, plus the UCLA Philharmonic, and soloists Vladimir Chernov and Daniel Suk...tickets start at $20

  • I've got a lesson with that guy today!

  • A wonderful Simone, very imposing and majestic.

I still prefer Cappuccilli's aura of fatherly benevolence, greatness and nobility, however.

Chernov chooses to express bitterness and disappointment and he looks like he's scolding his subjects for their behaviour towards each other; Cappuccili on the other hand is more like the loving father, concerned for the animosity between his compatriots; he tries to placate the differences bringing everyone back together

  • BRAVOOOOOOO !!!!!

  • Beautifull

  • Grande Vladimir!!!

  • master,bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was a gorgeous production.

  • Superb. I saw him in this production at the Met with Kiri Te Kanawa, and loved every second of it. His voice was perfect for this role.

  • I havent been to the met in nearly 30 years, and have been somewhat out of touch with the leading singers of today. I am however impressed wtih chernov. His production is very focussed, and he has a very clean attack. love this opera.

  • I love this opera too.

    It's Verdi's most underrated opera.

Act I is some of his best work, IMO. The Abbado recording is my favorite.

Chernov is better here than I remembered him. It's not a large voice and lacks a really distinctive sound, but he more than makes up for it with his focus and commitment.

He reminds me of Gobbi. His top doesn't go completely flat like Gobbi, but it betrays him when he pushes it.

  • @ElPiconeroalCognac Very under rated opera, especially the parts of the libretto that Boito wrote after Del Ponte's banality was becoming so obvious. Attila is also under rated.

Gobbi had a fantastic top until his last two seasons when it imploded.

  • Vladimir Chernov is without question one of the greatest opera singers ever to grace the stage.

  • Indeed.

but you must wash your dirty mouth before to name him!

  • I guess every village (even a globe village) has one.

  • What you've written doesn't make sense, but thanks for your comment. Best wishes and love; Jayboy.

  • @jayboytheplayboy Lucky for us he's at UCLA! ^_^

  • Wonderful. Thanks for posting this. Chernov is very impressive. Kiri sounds very good too.

  • Super

  • AMAZING!

  • Yes...and he was a very young man in those years...this is another of these common miracles of the make-up,my dear!
